Ken Burns' "Jazz" TV miniseries is on Netflix in its entirety. It has its flaws, especially in its rushed and misguided portrayal of jazz after 1960, but if you can get over the obvious Crouch/Marsalis school bias there's a lot of interesting biographical information, beautiful music, and good photography on display. Good way to teach newbies about early jazz history and bring them closer to an understanding of why exactly the greats are revered..
