Apple 8GB Iphone Refurb $250
bhd812 replied to aardvark baguette's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
at home AT&T has awesome reception, even all over the basement. at the bar it has spots where it's nothing but some spots are ok. anywhere in Chicago Edge is great but in Florida it sucked all over. AT&T i guess has good Chicago 3G mapping so i can not wait for the faster and better data but before i turn over for the new phone i will require more storage probably, atleast 32gb so i can have 4,000+ songs and a few movies on me at all times. -
exactly.. iphone if you want the cell and don't mind contracts,at&t or jailbreaking touch if you just want features without phone/bluetooth/camera.

I have the 16gb iphone (which is basicly a touch with cell calling) and everyday i learn a new use for it. in florida i used it as a computer to check the web and stay intouch with email. on the plane i had 4 movies on it and not only did it kill all the plane ride but an hour before i landed in Florida i let this old grandpa use my back iems (shure 500's) and watch the good the bad the ugly after he asked if that was an iphone. at the bar just this night the jukebox didn't work so i not only had 3.600+ songs just on the iphone to perfectly serve the music needed last night but i could even take requests and download songs on demand. last Friday i had the iphone set up on a live channel as a direct backup incase my Numark idj2 would lock up when i was djing. if the touch could do 25% of what uses i just said then i would have to agree with you completely! i don't want to sound like an Apple fan boy but God damn is this phone seriously amazing, whats amazing is the use's you find for it and that indirectly making yoru life just easier or better.

it depends on how much isolation you want first and how much you want to spend later. cheap good sounding stuff is the Senn MX500 earbuds, over the ear koss 35 clips, or head banded senn px100 are all great choices on a low budget for strait out of the ipod use. i used my koss and mx500's boat loads of times when i don't want to roll high dollar sound with an amp. better isolation and bigger budget for the iem's should be anything top tier on the Shure line, or maybe a set of custom IEM's like livewires or a set of Freqs. i have a set of Freq's coming cause i really want a cheap set of customs when i don't want to bring out the soft Sensaphonics. the good and bad about the custom iems is they provide amazing isolation, sometimes i don't want to be that distant of whats going on around me though... i never liked Ety's cause they to me just scream over done highs at you, just not a balanced sound to my ears. the klipschs seemed a mid range down where the highs and bass are more pronounced then the mids. the shure 420's are the best balanced uni iem i tried yet though. but at the 420's price you can buy a set of custom's....

Anyone have pics of Philys headphone stand and amp by him? there is some weird cross section design that is Fucking amazing!!! phil's amp is so perfectly balanced with the rough stock look and the beautifully done finished wood. SWT has to be some kind of wood craftsmen cause his work is to well finished. i am not fanboying him just giving him credit cause from his work he is do for it.

mind you the 808.2 was not burned in. i have heard differences with burn in from my g08 so i would imagine you would want a burned in 808.2 but even without your still getting great sound...just not $16k worth yet.... i posted some impressions on hf so i am not going to repeat what i said there but i will say it was amazing meeting so many headfi/headcase people i never met before. Jay's setup with his amp and 340's is seriously something to contend with. i tried talking him into hooking up one of the Meridians but i don't think he budged. he still is walking out with a great modded player though. his amp is so beautiful in life, swt done a great job on the wood!!!! the hotel is so Fucking empty,, like when the meet ended everyone got the fuck out ASAP. i still have my name badge on though representing. funny thing is on the badges we had our Avart's we use on headfi like last year. but my Avart is a ChiUni logo for this 08, so it was kind of like free advertising for it. i was talking to a few vendors and all i had to do was point to the badge....HAHAHAHA Thanks Florida! I talked to a few vendors so this ChiUni should be well stacked with MOT help and thats Awesome...now we can pay for the 09 event. speaking of which i am going to talk to hotels in the upcoming months for that...YAY!!!!! You all should come down..ok i am done with the plug

Given the size of it and knowing it was from the 60's i would say another 400 hours or so of burn in and it should really open up!

Since my DJ is being a Jag, its time for me to do his job..i need closed cans!

no prob at all, maybe my brother has a old set of v6's i could try out..eeeeeewwww lol I brought this Dj in last year to bring a Touch of cluby music to friday nights. the big thing is he understands i want him to play a different type of music from 2-4am and not have a "request anything night" on Fridays. the dj on Saturday does this so i am trying to separate the people that come in on Fridays and Saturdays by aiming in more to the music of club style stuff on Fridays. last Friday he purposely went on the mic and announced "request anything night" even after i just told him what the crowd was like in the building and what to focus in on that night. since he basically went against what i told him then its time to remind him who he just did that to and why he was told to play what he was told to. anyway there is more crap but yeah.. HAHA EWWWWWW sounds very interesting! i don't think i ever tried those cans before, i will put them on my list to try if this turns to be a long term thing...thanks! another good idea i have not thought about..will look at these also! hmm 280's also huh? had a pair of those long time ago but for hifi listening not djing. will have to consider those also. and thanks for the tip of snare drum in bass tracks, makes sense. -

Well after one to many "nice warnings" about what i want my Dj to do at my place it seems i need to give him a night off to let him know whats up. i have done this dj crap for a few years strait so i am confident in which i can easily do the job, then again we are talking about someone playing off his imac from itunes most of his paid time.. My gear of choice is going to be the Numark idj2 mostly cause i have somuch music already done in lossless on my ipod now (thanks to Benchmark for proving the capabilities of a computer setup). of course i am converting all my lossless files into 128 mp3s cause the idj2 does not play lossless and plus the 128's are going to be used only for dj time and SQ is not important at that moment (i am keeping my lossless files also). i thought about using my Grado's to be flashy trashy retro look but with the open design there is no way i will be able to hear the beats i am mixing in so those of course are out of the question. i thought about using my custom Sensa iems or the shure 420/500's i have but thats going to give some ear pain by the end of the night pushing them in and out of my ears a zillion times each night. i do have Senn 201's somewhere around my place i will use on the night i give him off just to get by with something. but most likely its going to be me replacing him in the end run so i will need a good set of closed cans, plus i am saving my business a ton of money not having to pay the cocky prick anymore after all he is the highest paid prick per hour in the building. and you should note i am not going to screw with any sony cans..ever again...for any reason. what do you guys think of some closed beyers? or Ultrastones? i am going to try out some at canjam also.. any other suggestions for a good Headcase quality closed can? hopefully this week i will pick up the idj2 and get practicing
