Two completely different worlds, same universe though. You have to think if you want a dynamic verus Electro and how important are preamp functions to you. I am not a believer in balanced headphones means better, but when it comes to speakers setups with longer cable runs and more cable runs i choose balanced over single ended if i could. Also Just because a product sounds great in headphone area does not mean it will sound great in Preamp, whats more important to you? Also this forum is largely Anti-RSA so asking for any thoughts on any Ray Samuels Product is going to get you lot's of one sided opinions, esp having people who owned or demo'd a b52 for a good amount of time (not at a meet). 4n6 seems to be the only person that has had enough time with the B52 and the 307a for a real educated opinion from personal experience of the product on these boards. him and I are are the only b52 owners i know on this forum. might wanna ask on headfi cause there is probably more b52 owners there...

we didn't get all that busy but she worked flawless tonight! no locking up or nothing..even got the album art right away! This app in use at my place lets me DJ and Do some one on one P.R. for my bar!!!! What I did was switch to Channel 10, run only on G band, disable the SSID being sent out, changed the SSID, and enable Security of course..of course I did bring in the better WRT54GS router instead of the 2wire from the Juke box which probably made all the difference alone but i was not in the mood for the same problem as last week. It saved my business money cause I don't have to pay a dj for Fridays, and it made my Business money cause now I could work the sales floor and jack up some of them drink orders.. All for free, already had the lappy, iPhone, router, etc..

after further research for a solution the only variable that changed was the people and then on to their phones. this weekend i will be running a crackled wrt54gs strait from the lappy instead of relying on the jukebox's 2wire to talk to the lappy and iphone. there are 4 settings i am rolling in the wrt54gs like different g band use and stuff like not sending out my SSID also.. should work... should... if it does work then the problem will be proven that the customers blue tooth gave my iphone blueballs last weekend... thanks for ur advice!

There is a really big time international dealer by my house and needless to say when those first hit the market we would see those on the test drives all around my neighborhood! Funny part is you would mainly see a soccer mom test driving them, a few Wanna be white rapper types with the other people you would see. I really have something personal against 90% of SUV drivers out there but these CXT buyers are another level of Dumb!

maybe a modded out litedac or something close (given your computer has a digi line out), and some active monitors with just corners being treated... should be under $1000...

I found when i had my speakers at the bar (placed on a banquet table) they required Decoupling more then at home. in fact at my house in my current setup i tried a few ways i heard no difference. probably depends on the what your putting them on, whats in back of your desk, how far are you from the area walls, etc. I would always look at treating your upper corners of your room either way and making sure your monitor is not in front (unlike my current setup where i have no option cause a beam in back of my 32). you would only know how much raising them and decoupling them after you have the speakers, which the op does not yet. an easy way to see if your setup needs it is to place CLAY brick's ontop of a cheap wood board first, you can probably score this for free also just to try out free (i have my dynaudio 72se's on clay bricks cause of blockage in my listening setup). if your worried about looks so much you can always use a small table cloth or like material to cover the brick and wood, actually looks pretty good. i would have to agree with what Tyrion, you, and recstar is saying here. the op is looking at some great monitors already (dynaudio's) and if he visits a guitar center or samash or something like them he may find a monitor that costs much less to meet his needs. there is lots of great monitors out there for cheap (again comparing to hifi marketed speakers). -

I think coming off as an Asshole is just the way i write it on the boards really, and no having gear and talking about it does not really raise my ego but instead was used to tell the OP how much difference a studio monitor costly much less can do. As far as the speaker stands there really is no alternatives in any market like them, if there is please post away cause the only ones i know of are the mopads and maybe a few floor stands or studio desks with speaker shelves on them. my point was to the OP who has nothing more then a dac his money can be spent on other areas then speaker stands first. if had a great setup and needed to know what placement options there are then sure go for them but he has just a dac now and only wants to spend a couple g on the entire setup, so you recommend a device that only raises the speaker height that costs a quarter of his budget? come on...thats like recommending a $250 LOD in a portable setup...is it really worth it to the OP and where he is? For him he can get alot with that money like a great dac/pre, monitors, and room acoustics which all play a really deal role in a setup other then $500 speaker stands. -

I dont think you can do better than a Active Studio monitor, The amount of marketing bullshit hifi speaker companies rely on does not apply to the Studio market. simple reason is people that mainly use these product are not buying for them to give pleasure listening instead they buy cause their product depends on the monitor. Of course studio monitors aim to be a very FLAT sound, but this is not a bad thing in hifi cause you should have your source and preamp dialed in for that. if you can go to a local guitar center or similar store to try out some monitors yourself. I have the older version BX8a from M-Audio, Great sound for $400. the new versions go down to 30hz i think for only $100 more. paired with my dac1-usb (that i got for FREE!), the setup is great. The monitors on the B-52 and G08 in the listening setup made my 72se's and sicpacs look really bad. btw for $500 you can get a great set of active's and acoustically treat your room, think about that before you spend it on raising you speaker a few inches.... got to love the bullshit in hifi huh? but if it makes you feel better about yourself at the end of the day and raises you ego then do what you want.. -
Hi H/C i am helping out a customer at my bar now and i have reached my limit to where to get this. He wants me to print out the top 50 albums of each year from 1980-2000. I looked at rolling stone, billboard, etc but i found nothing...even after a Google search... any ideas? Thanks in advance Billy D

Well the night is over and it was a so so go with the remote app as being used for djing. first the app locked up at least three times but it was an easy fix. weird part is when the people started coming in and the place got packed the phone did not receive anything from the computer, even at close range. not sure if WIFI can get blocked or something when there is lots of people with other phones going?? not sure but the night could of been worse for sure, any customer loved the idea..actually they thought i was a genius after i explained to them how i am djing and why i look like a jagbag always looking and playing with my phone. mind you people i was using the internal wifi from the lappy and i even hooked up a usb wifi to see if i could get any better signal to the phone but it did nothing. this week i am going to test the setup at least four times before next friday, if anything i will try to replicate the problem before hand if i can.
-
Tonight is the Night i will attempt to DJ using the remote app at my bar. i tested it twice this week and it seems to work good without major flaws. great signal from WIFI but i can hear the noise going threw the speakers. just incase all shit hits the fan i will have my classic on the idj2 cued up and will also have my iPhone dock incase i need that music... I am pretty secure going into tonight with the remote app as number 1 DJ tool...

regardless it's the same news... I like Mikail alot esp after meeting him even from the first time, but to me all what has been said is nothing different from what i hear when i talk to most owners about their experience... in the end if you want to buy a SP amp then go for it but don't turn around and complain when you realize what many others have said or what you could of known before hand if you would of looked into what was already known. just like people who got sucker fucked in the diablo bullshit, no one held a gun to your head on buying and living everyday with a crap lines you were given... There is no one that can change the way Mikail handles his business, its his and he does what he wants with it. but you can choose if your willing to live with the stuff that has been posted in this thread, all over hf, and what others say at meets.. just like many SUV owners these days complaining about gas prices, no one held a gun to your head for you to buy it, the common knowledge of MPG's and your vehicle was out there the whole time. just because you got suckered into "0% for ETc ETC months" and bought it does not give you no right to bitch about Gas now..you did it to yourself.. it's not Mikail's fault or Larries fault that you are waiting months on a product, it has problems, dealing with the tracking B/S and everything else...its just the way they run their business and you CAN NOT change that...but what you could of done was decide if waiting months, Problems, and Tracking B/S to name a few is important to you in a headphone amp... that's life, live and learn...and if you don't like what your in now do everything and anything to get the fuck out of your place, cause your the one who is paying in the end... the best part is people are still going to read all this stuff and get themselves in the same situation again and go on the boards and bitch again....

I have seen this on my pair of sr-60's.. like others have said... Just pop of the black tab and switch the sides out, afterwards put a tiny bit of nail polish on the tip of the metal rod and put the plastic tab back on..make sure you use nail polish just a tiny bit cause the tabs can pop off by themselves./.... little fuckers like to run away... congrats on the purchase, the rs-2 to me is one of the most under rated Grado out there.

FOr digital out maybe..well yes but for fooling the phone into thinking there is a charger on for the line out to be used then no, considering so many crappy no name companies are making chargers that work the line out. I find it funny not one of these Big Dollar LOD companies figured it out yet, or maybe the people running the companies are waiting for someone else to do the work in figuring out the fix... just like they all carbon copied their products wiring from the guy who first posted the pin out and how to make a dedicated line out for the ipod years back. whats even more surprising that no one on headcase has the answer neither, after all hc is the place to blast any Amp maker for questionable design.... all the know it all people around here should be able to come up with the answer..no offense meant but maybe a little push to get a LOD to work with it...wink wink...
-
Every Charging dock I seen works as a line out but the iPhone just asks you if you want to do Airplane mode. Maybe there is a way of tricking the phone to think there is a charger or something...
-
Qcables or something has a iphone thingy for sale. i was reading the other forum and someone said connecting pins 1 and 11 would do the trick. There has to be a trick to converting our lod's to work... I was really surpised by the lineout on the apple supplied dock for the iPhone, would not mind having the SQ to a portable headamp or in my car if i could just redo some of my Cheap lod's i have now. COme on you peeps on headcase should be all up in this shit! jeeezzz

So has anyone firgured out how to do the line out adapter for the iphone yet?

syncing did not help... but deleting the App off the phone then reloading it from Itunes does seem to fix the "cannot open" from coming up...atleast now i can open remote after i reload it. note you may want to keep your downloaded App's from the phone on good back up terms with your mac/pc just in case.
