  1. I am from Jefferson Parish, which is where the show was filmed. I only watched one episode, but found it to be an embarrassment to the department. Maybe every episode was not like the one I watched, but it just looked like a lot of racial profiling to me. "hey look, two black guys standing next to a car. Lets go harass them for no just cause."
  2. I was curious if anyone here is from New Orleans. I am guessing not, but who knows. I am hoping to put a local meet together sometime. I am not sure when, but my guess is that it will not be for at least a few months. If you are from the area, come say hello.
  3. You just need to get a shot of Jude answering the phone is a suit.
  4. I just read through the thread. It started a bit slow, but ended with a bang. I thought Jude's argument was rather repedative, and was flimsy to start with. I did however find his continual use of the phrase "Woo Audio WES" entertaining. It turns out that circuit design is not the only subject he has deficient knowledge of. I found his mischaracterisation of pit bulls to be offensive. I have worked with animals, and own one. They are amazing dogs. Their poor portrayal in the media is unfounded. Sorry for getting off topic but offhand comments like that really annoy me. That is how harmful stereotypes are disseminated.
  5. I have never sat in a steelcase, so I can't give any meaningful opinion on those. I have used the Aeron and own an Embody. I really liked the Aeron. It is so bouncy and feels great. The pressure point on the edge under the your thigh concerned me however. I was worried about vascular occlusion. I don't know if there are any reported cases or not, so I may just be paranoid. The Embody has very polarizing reviews online, and I had never sat in one. I was unwilling to shell out that kind of money for a chair that a large number of people don't like. I contacted Herman Miller, and a rep got in touch with me. They were very slow, maybe two months from first contact, but they brought a chair to my house to demo. I ordered one a week or so later, and have been very happy. It is not a "comfortable" chair like the Aeron. It is much more firm, but it has nice back support and causes no pressure point issues after a full day of sitting. No ass pain like some chairs leave you with. it is not a chair I would recommend anyone buy without testing first. I could see people preferring a less firm chair. I know it's expensive, but I use it a lot and it has a 12 year warranty.
  6. I would recommend sitting in one before buying it. I bought mine blind because I love the Eames' design. I was a bit underwhelmed the first day. This is not the type of chair you sink into. However with a few more days of use, it has really grown on me. I don't regret the decision and really enjoy the chair, but would highly recommend you try one out before buying it. I could see it not being for everyone.
  7. I know this thread is old, but that wont stop me from bragging about my new chair. Unfortunately it is not a Herman Miller or Vitra. If it was I would own a nice chair but no audio equipment to use while I sit in it. It is still nice however. I will replace it in maybe 5 years with a real one. Hopefully by then I will have graduated and have a job. I was about to say a real job, but I currently don't work. Any job would be an improvement to my financial status.
  8. I don't think I want to have fun with you in that way. But seriously, I have a date this weekend, so maybe it's not as bad as I sometime think it is.
  9. I wish I could join you for a drink, but school is back in, which means me and fun no longer know each other.
  10. I appreciate the opinion. I start back in school on Monday, and will be kept busy. That gives me plenty of time to look around before making a decision.
  11. I am glad I read through this thread. I was considering building one of these. I bought a soldering iron a while back, and have yet to use it. I don't own a portable amp, and I thought this may have been a cheap and decent project.
  12. I have had the LCD-3 for a month or so. I thought I would give my two cents. Considering this is my seconds post, I don't expect anyone will give it more value than two cents anyway. I think they are very nice. Definitely the best headphone I have heard. Of course I have only heard LCD-3, SR-507, SE310, PortaPro, LCD-2 (rev1 and rev2), DT770pro, and DT800 (600). To me the the LCD-3, sounds almost identical to the LCD-2 rev2. I would lie and say that it has so much more detail, etc, but I don't hear it. I do without a question hear a much better soundstage. It is wider and deeper in my opinion. I personally preferred the sound of the rev1 to the rev2 if that helps anyone gauge what type of sound I like. Unfortunately they were giving me some problems and Audeze swapped them for the rev2. I do not believe that the level of perceived quality increase I am receiving merits the price. However I have them, and I like them better than the LCD-2, so I will keep them. I don't want to take the loss on them. I may build a TOTL STAX setup in an attempt to consolidate everything down a bit. If I do that, then I may part with the LCD-3 after all. I read someone who said they did not care for the chrome blocks on the bottom of the headphone. Well, I can say functionally it is a great improvement. It keeps the cables from occasionally jabbing into my shoulders. The new pads are also nicer. I think the brown leather looks nice, but I can not say I love the new wood choice. Sorry if my thought patterns are a bit disjointed. Lets blame it on me being new. I would say you are welcome to criticize, but I suppose if you plan to do that you were not going to wait for my permission.
