I think there are some minor differences but not worth seeking out 1968s for the prices they command- 419 replies

I'm aware of the ecc equivalents I was just wondering if there were any larger, similar tubes ala 12au7 <-> e80cc -

nothing stopping you from making whatever case you feel like

in my limited experience most issues occur when you are trying to case everything

I miss tops burgers near cal tech, their "Kobe" burger made me gain silly amounts of weight over the course of 3 months

yep telefunken e80cc. requires 2x the 12au7 filament current, so I'm more or less banking on the antek to be able to supply ~20% more than the official rating. This is still in line with what they write on their site. Also happy to report that there's no issue running the mains wiring alongside the HV lines in the umbilical I wonder if there's a 12ax7 equivalent to the e80cc I'm having a few problems getting the extension shaft to line up with the pot, is there such a thing as a flexible extension shaft? -
Was rifling through the private tracker I use for jp music, grabbed this. She sounds ok but I'm wondering if her fame is due in part to her looks/youth

need to figure out some last bits and pieces with case feet and the potentiometer, but everything's working otherwise. it's been a while since I heard this amplifier, a lot of things to like. -
if your brother is addicted to porn you should get him open headphones so you know when not to set foot in his room this gift is way more efficient because it's like a two for one special

in other words, just a bad joke In other Megatron news, has anyone given thought to replacing the 1.5k resistors with 10m90s parts? I was thinking it'd resemble a beta follower, and the parts cost is pretty insignificant compared to the rest of the build. -

I like it, not completely sold on that knob though is the board mounted to the carbon fiber? how easy was it to work with the material? last but not least, does it make your amplifier accelerate more quickly -
Doesn't birgir have a standalone pcb for generating bias? He also has that board for mounting triad fs36 seems like all the bases are already covered

with that kind of height profile looks like you need to make a plug in version

reviving a bit of an old thread to get some input on how you guys handle trimpots in p2p work. Haven't spotted too many in audio builds and I was wondering if there was something more mechanically robust than the pcb-mount bourns parts we usually throw at the offset/balance. Maybe there's some merit in chasing down the cheapo pots on ebay?

So many Stax DIY Amplifiers, which to choose?
nopants replied to Juggernaut1101's topic in Do It Yourself
In the audio xpress article. Jim already said the standard BHSE supply works, though I did want to check that 280V@80 ma HV secondaries would be ample for the SR-X. That would make it a single-transformer build. -
