I've got a Charlize on the way which I will power with a new 12amp Pyramid Gold PSU I recently acquired. I will be using the PSU for the Sol Headphone Amp [MOSFET] that I traded off of looser101 as well, which will be setup as a pre/headphone amp and feed the Charlize/Polk Speakers in my computer setup. Next time you come over you will have to give it a listen and see if it is tolerable.

The only opinion that matters is your own and to a lesser extent, your Wife's. That said, I find that aerius and I generally arrive at the same conclusions... regardless of how we get there. Also, thought it might not be exactly PC, I tend to accept opinions from folks with good gear more readily than someone who has crap [by my estimation].

You could get mister x to build you a nice gainclone.

If MAD doesn't charge tax that is sort of against the law is it not? As for the no credit cards thing... you could just eat the $2 fee and do a cash advance. It drives my K340's better than the PPX SLAM did, and sounds great. Beyond that I can't say much as it has been months since I have heard one of Mikhails amps.

You may want to consider McAlister Audio in addition to Mapletree. Take a look at the thread on head-fi for a recent mini meet we held. His new amps look hot, sound great and best of all... they're inexpensive.

You should just get them recabled with a HE90 connector... You know... Larry woodied his.

Not to 'steal the thunder' of this thread, but I would also like a recomendation for a 4 conductor cable with portable use in mind for my upcomming K81DJ recable.

Well, I haven't done any critical listening yet, but it is a BIG step up from my onboard sound. I think that once I replace the EXTREMELY crappy potentiometer in my T Amp I will be in pretty good shape for my modest computer audio setup.

Did you see the new clock that Lars Clausen designed? www.newclassd.com Would be interesting to see what he thinks of it. As for 'all the active components' in the ZapFilter, sounds like he just doesn't agree with the design. I know I liked what I heard in the Zhaolu Renato modded, though I am not opposed to there being a better solution out there somewhere.

What doesn't he like about the zapfilter? Good luck.
