Well she sounds crazy, and is probably a fiend in bed. I say you follow aerius' advice.
  2. I don't know why you guys can't see that it is as basic as bread and butter...
  3. lol, what a noob.
  4. Yeah, I know... but my way of saying it is way more funny. I've yet to hear an Audio Technica that I really like, but I have also yet to hear the L3000s. The W100's were OK for some things, but every other AT I've heard has left a bad taste in my mouth.
  5. I would have to seriously question the sanity of anyone finding the bass weak in my system at the moment. I'm starting to think that I either don't have the bass light version or that this version business is just a matter of system synergy. Cool, I am thinking about picking up another pair at some point... not sure what. Will probably wait and see how the MS-2i MAGNUMs turn out. Purk - Welcome! There are definitely a lot of the supremus' here... hell, I'm almost a head-case supremus.
  6. I was ok when it was a Grado party over here, but fucking audio technicas... that's pretty weak guys.
  7. Interesting... more and more I am thinking the Ariston may be the way to go. Wasn't planning on spending any money after just getting back from a vacation, but I might not be able to resist.
  8. Happy Birthday Mike!
  9. Thanks for the info Yikes. Given the condition of both tables and the cartridges/arms that they come with do you think it is worth taking a chance on the Ariston or is the Thorens a better bet for $150 less?
  10. Yeah, good point... and I will definitely update here on what I decide. Good to know. Part of what is attractive to buying at the meet is that there would be no shipping cost or chance of the TT being damaged en route. It also seems to have a decent cartridge, which is more than I can say for most of the deals I see on ebay.
  11. I've found this on the Ariston Audio deck - http://www.hi-fiworld.co.uk/hfw/oldeworldehtml/aristonturntable.html Sounds interesting, though as I've said I really don't know anything about vinyl.
  12. Hey Guys, A head-fi'er larryminator is bringing a couple turntables to the Toronto meet that look interesting: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=248953 What do you think of these two offerings? I know next to nothing about vinyl, but Thorens seems to have a good name, and the other one looks pretty nice. I've talked to the seller through PM and have been reading his posts in the meet thread and a few Grado threads and he seems to be a good guy. Is the price good? They look to me in nice shape, and it would save me delivery. Since Ray and Peter are coming to the meet, I am sure I will have enough people on hand to make sure it is setup properly. I've asked him if I can audition them at the meet and decide then... hopefully he doesn't get any more certain offers before the meet rolls around. Right now I am thinking of going with the Thorens, unless that other table sounds a lot better. Thanks in advance, Jay
  13. Thanks, I'll pick that up the next time i swing by the bookstore.

Nice pens, though I'm not a huge fan of gold myself.
  15. Happy Birthday Marshal!
  16. Anansi Boys is great, as is American Gods... I'm trying to figure out which book of his to get next.
  17. All of his stuff is great, but my favourites are Tigana and The Fionavar Tapestry... though I am really likeing Ysabel. Great book! Probably my second or third favourite Heinlein. My favourite has always been Job: A Comedy of Justice. It is too hard to pick between most of the others since everything that he wrote in the 60's, 70's and 80's is so good.

  20. Extra large double double at Timmys...
  21. I said it over there already, but my condolences. :'(
  22. Happy Birthday Earl!
