  1. Oops, missed this first time around. I get what you mean, and I agree that I'll need to see them in person to reach a final decision about the looks. As for the brown bits, if I don't like them in person it shouldn't be hard to order new parts from Beyerdynamic. I also have some black paint that bonds to plastic, so I could sand them down a bit and give them a few coats of that.
  2. Oh, I've never heard anyone call the flats donuts. I'm not sure they do normally, I think that Steve's woody has a ridge or something... but they still might fit normal Beyers. By all reports it sounds very good as it is now and will sound extremely good if I can find some YH-100 drivers for it at some point.
  3. What don't you get?
  4. Ummm... more than RS-1's. Yes Earl, they are a perfect mold of your anus. Steve took it while you were asleep last night.
  5. What's wrong with the shape? They're ported. Not sure about the brown plastic myself, but that can be easily remedied. I don't actually have them yet, so no idea as to the sound except for what I've heard through the impressions I've read. I've wanted to try Ortho's for a while, and Steve's woodwork is impeccable... and these were tweaked by Wualta, and he is as much of a crazy mad scientist as Patrick, except that he is sane. That combined with the nice fit of the beyers and the L3000 earpads tells me that this should be a nice companion for my K340's.
  6. Ok, the suspense is killing me...
  7. Did you get the optional rivets option? I hear it keeps 909 from your amp like nobodys business.
  8. Figured it was baseball, that makes sense.
  9. Huh?
  10. You're getting bagel pads for your RS-1s? But those aren't the kind of donuts I'm talking about. Though there is definately wood involed.
  11. This thread is really... quite... riveting.
  12. I like Tim Hortons for coffee myself, but I'm canadian. Don't like donuts much for eating.
  13. This is in the Headphones forum, please stay on topic.
  14. The MS2i is definately in the below 300 sweet spot for Grados. One of my favourites. Earl - Looser101 has both the MS2i and the MS Pro and could probably give you some impressions. I haven't spent enough time with the MS Pro yet myself. Boomana - The MS2i is a big step up from the MS1. Looser101 would probably give a better description of the sound though as he has owned both for some time. Maybe I'll send Renato a PN and ask him to check in to this thread...
  15. The bottom plate of my amp is secured by four self tapping wood screws for christ sake, I WISH I had allen keys.
  16. Ok... anyways, speaking of google. I had a look at the TV's at costco and vizio is only available in the US. They have a Daytek one for a bit more with similar specs though... http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10291162&whse=BCCA&Ne=5000000+4000000&eCat=BCCA|79&N=4008767%205000014&Mo=7&No=2&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1〈=en-CA&Sp=C
  17. btw, what is a woot off?
  18. Cool, my dad has a costco membership I think.
  19. Where did you get it? Ive been considering a new TV for a while.
  20. Not that I have anything against the ES-1, but have you considered the new Blue Hawaii SE that Justin is putting out? Looks like a nice amp.
  21. Like I said, it was a guesstimate, I will try to do up a virtual build tonoght or tomorrow, as I'm kind of curious if it can be done as well.
  22. I wish I was playing hooky today... still, had a headache and one of the admin assistants gave me a couple tylenol 3's, so I'm feeling OK.
  23. No, I wasn't talking about skimping on the quality.
