Got the Pico as well and has been very happy with how it performs with my L3000. Sound surprising good with the L3000, although struggle a bit with the HD-650.
That's why I have a spare set of driver for my R10. Regarding the audiogon R10, the price is way too high for the one in this condition. If I'm not mistaken, Fing bought a NOS R10 from Alex for less than that.
Yep....I still have no clue want to do today. I probably will get her some of her favorites dessert and have a nice dinner some where.
Very well said Tom. Hope you guys have a great time.
Tom,
I believe Fing's Concerto XLR Accent-T will be better than the stock due to the followings:
1) Near if not equal to SDS-XLR w/ Tube Rect. PSU for dynamic amp instead of the Meastro SE in the Concerto SE.
2) Upgraded ES-1 with tube rectified PSU instead of stock ES-1.
3) Better and more regulated tube rectified PSU
I hope Fing can give us more insight in his amp. I was able to talk to Mikhail briefly the other days, and that what he told me about his amp.
It definitely will not be 6 months. I believe Andy got his SDS-XLR in 6 months time, so it will definitely be longer for Fing given that his Concerto XLR Accent T will have the SDS-XLR and ES-1 in one box.
I think had too much to drink on Friday's night.
The SDS-XLR is incredible if you has yet to hear it. Of course, Fing has to wait several months for the amp to be built.....so good luck with the waiting game.
You might have to hunt down the ATH-W11JPN. I found the 11JPN to be quite nice. They share similar traits to the L3000 and very comfortable. They definitely sound better than the A950LTD to my ears. If the W5000 fits you well, they are also a good choice.
Fing,
Nice very nice. You will be living our dreams soon. SDS-XLR and ES-1 in one package powered with tube rectified PSU. That amp gotta be amazing. For those who have yet to hear the SDS-XLR, it is freaking awesome. The ES-1 in Fing's Concerto XLR Accent-T should approach maxed SP ES-1. WoW!
Alex,
Very nicely done with the recable. Beside the HE90, the R10 is my favorite headphones. In fact, I can see the R10+SDS-XLR slightly edge out the HE90+ES-1 in my system. No money for SDS-XLR though.
I recently bought the 7' Black Dragon HE90 extension cable for my HE90 for around $330. Drew told me that the cost of the Fischer connectors are over $200 alone ($100 + each for male & female). It took almost 2 months for Fischer to ship the connectors to Drew. Congrats Fing.
