  1. I love mine E500 as well. Can't believe something this small can sound so good. I use mine right out of my iRiver IHP140 Roxbox.
  2. not even goldplated?
  3. Nice looking CD player! Nice Ear HP4 though!!
  4. When your CD/SACD players are so freaking awesome? My exemplar 5910 just sounds so darn good that's all and I need to invest into $$$ in order to surpass the sound of my 5910. I use and love my L3000+DHA3000 playing FLACs or Waves at work though.
  5. Sony with digital in? It took year for them to adopt the MP3 format. I don't think they will have such player any time soon.
  6. I might have to check out the 5400ES based on your praise KG. I will likely buy it used on Audiogon for some discount. The last one went for around $800.
  7. KG, Do you like the sound of the 2 CH output more than that of the SCD-1? Thanks
  8. I'm in for cash. Hope things will get resolve with your amp man. I agreed with Nate regarding getting Mikhail to repair your amp first.
  9. so when will be available? The end of this month?
  10. I want the PICO DAC so bad, when will it be available? Come on Justin!
  11. Not any more. The urethane rings are also no longer available. I tried ordering those parts from Sony and partstore without any success.
  12. Nice work Andy. Hope you will get your R10s sort out soon!
  13. I think the PS-1 in a used market will soon drop as the HD800 starts to work its magic. I remember back when the HD650 was released in 2003, the price of all HP-1, & 2 dropped from $1200 to almost $650. Of course, a year later the HP-1s went up again after folks found they like their HP-1 better than HD-650.
  14. Well with the ES-1 I used to have, it was 3 or 4 fault tracking before a real tracking was provided. Dan, maybe it is getting close now. Luckily my SDS has been superbly reliable from day one.
  15. So who's buying the HD-800? I'm trying my best not to spend any more on gears but I so want the HD-800! I might make the trip to the up and coming NC meet just to listen to the Senn HD-800!
  16. I saw the PSU and tested the amp with Tom 3 weeks ago. The amp is housed inside a small-form Meastro chassis. The PSU was supposed to be made inside another Meastro chassis, instead it made inside of the "toaster" style PPX3 chassis. The transformer also has a dent it in.
  17. My biggest problem with MarkL mods is the weak and recessed midrange. By increase the width of the soundstage while not attentuate the midrange, the vocal sounds recessed. Overall the sound is more airy with bigger soundstage. However, I found the bass to be a bit anemic as I think Mark modeled his mods after the bass light pair of the R10. What Mark should have done is kept his R10 and get a much better headphone amp to drive them. The MD5000 is definitely far from being an R10 killer in my book.
  18. How about fly to Colorado and pay him a visit and stay until he gets your amp finished.
  19. Dan, I hope everything will work out for you man. I went through this same road too many times.
  20. Nice to know that. What I found so special about the L3000 is its ability to sound great out of portable source. Heck I would vote the L3000 as the best sounding headphone without amplification!
  21. Nice of you to show up finally! Can I still borrow your Qualia for a month?
  22. You know it when. The sound will be very transparent with extremely tight bass. The treble might be a bit colder than what you used to. The soundstage and imaging will be spot on. My best experience with the Qualia is listening to them with SACDs. Sony created the Qualia headphones especially for SACDs and the performance is phenomenal playing this media.
  23. Mulveling was using two layers of bubble wraps inside the headband of his Qualia. This is not new though but man...wish Sony did a much better job on the fit/finish of Qualia though. ASR, so you basically killed Mikhail's creation for the $1500 headband then
  24. Nope. Right fit is crucial for the Qualia to sound great otherwise, they sound like average headphones.
  25. To Qualia owners....may you have the right fit!!
