  1. Whoa...no more of the original stax jacks? Pretty darn nice!
  2. Yup...amazing work indeed Birgir!
  3. Birgir...you probably wonder the where about of your transformer boxes. They are actually with me courtesy of Doug. I'll revisit them again with the SR009. The SR007 didn't work all that well with them due to its much more difficult to drive nature.
  4. Happy belated birthday as well.

How much bigger is this amp is to your current KGSSHV mini offering Birgir? How about the sound?
  6. We are waiting for you to do it and prototype it for us.
  7. Just get the GS-X MKII and be happy especially with the HD800. I'm curious with the Rag but I'm not going to pay full price to find out. Another great amp for the HD800 is the Headroom BUDA with a dedicated Desktop Power Supply (DPS).
  8. I think it will sell better than you think given its outstanding sound for its size. Those digital amp modules have proven to sound great on every iterations. I have the Sony NW-ZX1 and it is a dream to use and sound stellar with my JH13pro. However, it is a bit cumbersome given its size and weight. I think the A17 will be an excellent alternative to player like the DX-90 & X5 for IEMs. Plus you won't have to deal with frustrating UI from those companies.
  9. I think they even pay for a return shipping too and no 15% restocking fee. Sadly, I was not selected either. Was looking forward of comparing the Rag and GS-X MKII side-by-side comparo.
  10. Nope unless someone can modify it to do so. In analog line in mode, the pha2 can get over 15 hours tho. Sadly, I take the pico power over the pha2 as a portable amp alone.
  11. I have one of this and it is pretty nice portable amp/DAC combo. Don't expect stellar performance as a hirez/DSD DAC tho. The downfall of this particular Sony is its rather short battery life and inability to charge while playing. The pha-2 is especially great when paired with my Sony nwz-zx1 & JH13pro. Beside the battery issue, the pha-2 is a very well designed unit.
  12. He is a bass head and just dislike the sound of the HD800. I happen to love the HD800+GS-X MKII and didn't find anything wrong with the pair. Others who have auditioned the HD800 + GS-X MKII all love the sound.
  13. Have a great birthday Todd!
  14. I'm too lazy to join anyone guys. Maybe I'll join (Mike) Muveling for his Marietta Square Everything Tannoy Shop! I was using the Pocket Reference the others days that's why I made the comment. Yes, I totally agree with you guys that he is a sleazy character.
  15. Don't keep your hope up...b/c I have no idea.
  16. His casework was of very high quality though. The casework on my Pocket Reference still look great!
  17. Yes, the e-phi sounds marvelous. Folks at the Seattle Meet are in for a treat.
  18. Very true and several Chinese headamp gears. How about Meier Audio?
  19. Nice Nate. I still have two of them and know someone here with two PPAs as well. Yup, quite a sound from a DIY desktop amp. It was neck-to-neck with the Gilmore V.1 & V2.0 in the sound department. Given that you can roll op-amps in them, they are actually a tad more versatile..
  20. Yes, it is pretty lame what Larry did. Phil contributes a great deal to the community though. I wish he makes more of his design public likes KG. His designs always sound really good. Remember when Meta42 w/ OPA627 was considered quite a marvel of an amplifier when it bettered the HR cosmic? I took my maxed out PPA out of the storage recently and it still able to best Violetric V200 & HR Balanced Desktop Amp (circa 2009) in single-end output. Folks tend to forget that the maxed out PPA was a really good amp.
  21. Certainly he didn't read the welcomed PM back in 2006. I think it just a general limited liability announcement on headphones forums I guess.
  22. Guys....you got these all wrong. PPL is the engineer behind LaRocco and Triad Audio and he is an exceptional person. Phillip La-Rocco is his real name and he is not "Larry Milligan". Both Larry & Traid Audio (Brad) used his designs to mfg. their amps. From what I understand, Phil (Uncle Phill) didn't not get involved with Larry on the business side of things (he just licensed out his designs). This man is the main ideas behind the DIY META42, and PIMETA, and PPA projects. He is one of the first person who implemented "discrete" buffer stage in headphones amplifiers (circa 2003). In fact, he can be credited for many of the discrete buffers that are being used in many amplifiers today. For instance, Headroom & RSA did not use discrete buffer stage until after 2006. I have dealt with Phill many times in the past and he is an outstanding individual. So I can vouch for him here. In fact, he was kind enough to send me one of his tube amplifier prototype that sound just wonderful on an extended 3 months loan. This e-Phi is just pure bliss to listen to. Can you guys remember the PPA amplifer, and even the Pocket Reference amp? These amps together with Justin's Gilmore V1 & V2 kicked serious ass in the days and continue to compete with anything up to $1000 today. The L3 is just an evolution of Pocket Reference. The L3 is the best sounding portable headphones amplifier I've ever tried. It is considerably better sounding than Justin's Pico Power, albeit not as versatile. http://tangentsoft.net/audio/ppa/ http://tangentsoft.net/audio/meta42/ Dusty, you were around back then...so you should remember these right?
  23. I just talked to someone who commissioned him to build a maxed out KGSSHV for $4k and he can't seem to be able locate him either. Hope he will surface eventually.
  24. I'm with you guys thet the German deserved it, but I don't think Messi deserved his award. If Messi would have passed the ball more, Argentina may would have won. The last freekick was also wasn't very good and didn't give his team any chance.
