Congrats on your sale. The new owner will be happy for a long time. Double-box is a must and don't forget to insure against shipping damage. You should also take couple of pictures demonstrating how well the amp is packed too.
Yup. I always pack really well. I shipped the Sony SCD-1 to Germany before without a problem and I didn't even have the original box. The weight of the shipping was 75-80 lbs.
Brent are you up for this meet? I'll be there. Will definitely bring the SR009/SR007 and the KGST to the meet. Maybe HD800 with the SUSY Dynahi to show off as well.
Yup, it takes a long time. However I do like the GE better than the RCA. RCA is airier with better soundstage but the high is a tad too pronounce for my taste.
Peter,
Thanks for your impression. What's the retailed price of the HF1000 amplifier? Did Fang mentioned the price? BTW, I do like my BHSE a good bit better with the NOS XF4s.
Not many good mini-meet to go in GA to be honest. Mostly just Mike and me getting together. I think the Atlanta crew is too lazy to organize a meet. Though we managed a 2013 Canlanta once.
So you and Ed had a great fortune of comparing the HE1000 + HE amp to the SR009 + BHSE in a quiet environment...would you mind letting us know of what you think of the HE1000 pretty please?
$4.8k total solution isn't for the Chord? Way pricey! A friend of mine and a local headphone dealer was able to make the meet and he was very impressed by Mr. Speak Ether, HE1000, and the Chord TT. He stopped by at Headamp & Milos's table and really enjoy the gears too.
I think I'll have to try to make the next Socal meet. Seem to be plenty of manufacturers and less of personal gears. Would love to listen to Milos's Stax DAC
I believe the circuit of any electrostat amps are balanced in nature anyway. So if you are feeding singled end signal, it will eventually be converted balanced signal.
Many thanks for the picture Sam & Geoff. Any chance you will be able to add a pair of XLR loop out on the back plate? Love every aspect about this amp. Your chassis work is super sweet.
