  1. OK, I'll take your advice and when the time comes I'll opt for an automatic reverso, but I'd also need to get an auto watch winder seeing how I wouldn't be wearing that reverso daily.
  2. I'm only considering a quartz reverso because the ones I've seen are less expensive than automatic and manual of that model, so quartz would suite my income, but for now I'm just having my JLC Master serviced and hopefully a JLC SS bracelet. Now I've an idea how much that service will cost, and I don't expect that bracelet to be cheap, but because to me that bracelet will add to the beauty of that watch, the cost will be worth it. Btw, why do you suggest not getting a quartz reverso ?
  3. When I have the spare money, I might get a JLC Reverso with an exact or similar look to that in the photos, I'll still be keeping my master ultra thin, but with that master being a manual wind, I think I'll get a Reverso with quartz.
  4. I sent my JLC master back to the place I got it from 3 days ago, and they in turn told me it was being sent to JLC specialists for that service, I was also told I'd receive a quote within around 10 days. I've since got in touch with a jewellers in Leeds that deals with JLC, and they quoted a service cost for that JLC model of £450.
  5. I'm having my Jaeger LeCoultre master ultra thin serviced, and I've also enquired about a stainless steel bracelet for it. ATM it has a brown leather strap, but if their SS bracelet is available then my watch will look just like that in the photos. Sorry about the not so clear photo.
  6. Yeah that's the place I had a new cable fitted on my 009's, and Mark is a very helpful guy, I also got my Yggy from there, although it's now called Electromod.

    Ee by gum. ?
  8. Here are some photos of another headband I've done for my 009's, which is very similar to the other one I did sometime ago, but on this new one I sprayed the band matte black, whereas the other I covered with carbon fibre wrapping. Now I've still got that other headband, but I'm keeping it as spare, not that I expect anything to happen to this new headband because it's very strong. P.S. I've also started putting my 009's on this different stand.
  9. Swapped those Svetlana Winged C's for the stock Mullard's yesterday, had a listen then and today, and I'm very surprised and impressed with how the 009/BHSE/Yggy sound using those tubes. Like with the Winged C's there's still a slight edginess to the SQ, but I believe that's because of the 009's, now with the 007's both those tubes would be very good. ( imo ) I still favour the Mullard xf4's, but if I'd had the Yggy before getting those NOS Mullard's, then with how much they cost me I'm not sure I'd have got them. ?
  10. Because listening to my 009's while using the stock Mullard's that came with the BHSE, and also using the K-01, made the SQ so uncomfortable and at times painful, I haven't used those tubes for at least 4 years, however because I'm happy with how the svetlana's/BHSE and Yggy now make the 009's sound I'll give those stock Mullard's another go. Now those NOS Mullard xf4's I have were got from watfordvalves, and Derek there told me he got them from a reliable source that bought them directly from the Mullard Blackburn factory in Lancashire England in the early 70's. Derek also told me Mullard never gave any of their secrets away, which is probably why they're still regarded as the holy grail of EL34's.
  11. On the other site's BHSE thread, a head-fier I know " Bonesy Jonesy " wrote a post saying he once heard someone's BHSE and the SQ was terrible, he also said the tubes used were NOS's. So my guess is that someone is me because he did hear my BHSE with the 009's around 4 years ago, and at that time the SQ from the 009's was very uncomfortable, however the tubes being used then weren't NOS's, they were either stock mullard's or Svetlana's winged C's, because when Bonesy Jonesy visited my place in 2012 or 2013 they were the only tubes I had, and still do. Now I did try and write a post on that site correcting Bonesy Jonesy, because I didn't want others to think NOS tubes are bad, [ well at least the Mullard xf4's I use aren't ] but because that site has been changed somewhat, I got mixed up writing a post so decided to delete it. [ And this time I won't be writing anymore posts there ] On that sites BHSE thread good things have been written about Svetlana winged C's, but I haven't used mine for sometime, so thought I'd give them another try but this time the Yggy was being used. And I'm very impressed with the SQ I heard, not as good as the xf4's and there was/is still a slight edginess, but not uncomfortable as they were when using the K-01 I had. What this means is John [ johnwmclean ] was right when he suggested it could be the K-01 that was causing the uncomfortable SQ I had from the 009/BHSE/K-01. So John, I should've listened to you when you made that suggestion, sorry.
  12. No I've not tried xf2's, but I got those xf4's from a place in the UK I've had dealings with before , and found them to be very reliable, however xf4's were the only NOS Mullard's they had and still do. I also read ( sometime ago ) on a guitar forum where someone had tried all NOS Mullard xf's, and found them to be not that different, this will have been though with guitar amps not headphone amps. P.S. I got a second matched quad of those xf4's, but when I have that KGSSHV Carbon, I'll probably be using the BHSE half as much as I do now.
  13. All I can say is when I was using the stock Mullard's and SED's with the BHSE the 009's SQ was very uncomfortable, whereas with using the xf4's the SQ was/is much more comfortable and that was from using the K-01, but I found since using the Yggy SQ is even more comfortable. E.g. When I was listening to Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer from 009/BHSE/K-01 with stock Mullard's the SQ was so uncomfortable I had to turn the volume right down, whereas with the 009/BHSE/Yggy and using xf4's I'm turning the volume up. ( obviously not to ridiculous levels )
  14. Like I've mentioned in the reply I did to aldavey's post, Birgir.?
  15. I wouldn't normally, but he wrote a post saying he thought I was using either NOS Mullard xf1's or xf3's with my BHSE, when they're xf4's.
  16. Oh, in my previous post where I wrote " Now it doesn't need me to mention ", I should've added on Head-Case, if I'd have wrote it on HF I wouldn't have needed to bother. Now I have said I'd never write another post on HF again, but unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I had to correct something astrostar59 wrote on that shit site about the NOS Mullard tubes I use on my BHSE.
  17. Not a stats amp I'm interested in at all for two reasons, first is I'm having John ( eventually ) build me a KGSSHV Carbon, but second I've seen that this new Stax amp could be well over $5000. Now it doesn't need me to mention that that price of above $5000 will probably include a cut distributors and retailers will take. So what Stax should do is give the cost of that amp excluding the two mentioned, then those excited about buying this amp will realise they're getting a $3000 ( maybe ) amp that costs above $5000, unless someone knows different.
  18. When I ordered the BHSE early 2011, it was actually for those 007mk1's, however after hearing the Esoteric K-01 around August 2011 I stupidly used those earspeakers as part exchange for that SACD/DAC. Now I like to think I've only made 3 mistakes with audio gear, 1, was getting the SRM-007t, 2, letting the 007mk1's go, but by far my biggest mistake was getting that K-01, fucking idiot I am.
  19. I got my 009's in late 2011 and haven't had one problem of this imbalance, although I did have a problem with the cable last year in which I had to have a new one fitted, but I also had to have a new cable fitted to the 007mk1's I once had, this was after I'd had those 007's for 7 years. I got those 007mk1's in 2000 along with the SRM-007t to drive them, but let them both go in 2011 because I was never that impressed with the SQ the two produced, I've since heard 007mk1's driven by the BHSE and regret letting those mk1's I had go.?
  20. After seeing John's audio rack in where he has his BHSE's amp section and PSU adjacent ( obviously not in this photo of his gear ), I decided to have my audio rack altered to allow me to do the same with my BHSE. The first photo is of how my audio rack was, to how it is now. Not very good photos so not easy to make out, but the bottom shelf ( empty ) is where the KGSSHV Carbon is going when John has built one for me that will hopefully be sometime next year.
  21. I think lostinaudio, ought to get lostinHF.
  22. After having an expensive SACD/DAC ( K-01 ), and now having an Yggy which was a fraction of the cost of that SACD/DAC, I'll never spend a large amount on a DAC again, especially with me enjoying the SQ from the Yggy more than I did that K-01. However if someone wants to spend their money on a Chord Dave, which I've seen in the UK priced at around £8,000, then that's up to them, definitely not something I'll be doing though, in fact I'm still pissed off with the amount I lost in selling that K-01. ? Yes I know, I'm a fucking idiot.
  23. Ahh ! so that must be the Guy that created the Shangri-la which costs an obscene amount, well I've had my 009's since 2011 and have driven them mostly with the BHSE, and the only problem I've had with those earspeakers is the cable.
  24. Dr Fang who ?, I'll stick to taking notice of those I trust. ?
  25. The only thing by Stax that would stir my interest, is a possible new Flagship Earspeaker, anything else I'll pass.
