I'm picking up my second amp from Doug tomorrow personally at an LA meet. I can't wait to see how she turned out.

Yeah, I'm going to be skeptical on this one as well. This seems like the kind of thing Apple and Intel would catch in QC testing. Thunderbolt 3 has tons of bandwidth and shouldn't be limited by that kind of load.

For those of you on the Forza fence, just saw this in my twitter feed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/forza-horizon-3-demo/9nblggh52th6

Seems like a no-brainer at that price if you don't already own 600/650 and want to buy new.

Arise, Zombie thread!

This is the best headphone amp $ can buy and it is currently on sale at best buy I believe. It does require a 1.21 giga-watt power supply though, so keep that in mind.

I will say that there are better deals than MSRP out there if you search. There is no way I would have spent $4,000 on the Utopia, good as it is. It is quite a departure from the HD800/800S. If you've been using the Senn as a daily driver, the smaller soundstage of the Utopia does take some getting used to. That being said, my Utopia "demoted" my 800S to office duty.

I personally don't understand why people get as upset as they do about the presidential election. Outside of about 10 states near that center line the rest of our votes don't matter that much. Thanks, electoral college! I'm not really sure what the founders were thinking with that one other than saving those of us in the more solidly red or blue states from the onslaught of political adds you guys in Florida and Pennsylvania must be seeing any time you turn on the TV.

I'm bringing my Utopia down to a meet in LA this weekend with the express goal of listening to it on as many rigs as possible to see what I think of it on different amps. So far I've only heard mine on my ECP Ravenswood.

One small step for man; on giant leap for level 4 manned turrets. Finally beat horde mode on normal.

I sunk about 10 hours in to Civ 6 this weekend. The new systems (there are a ton!) seem to be well thought out and the game looks and runs great. It is a ton to take in, and I figure it will take a couple of play throughs to really figure out how things work. There is a tutorial that is pretty decent, but it only scratches the surface on what is a very complex game. The AI badly needs a patch or two. I'm winning very easily on my first play through as Teddy Roosevelt on "prince" difficulty. The AI seems to have a bad habit of starting wars it has no chance of winning. Rather than crush me in the early game when they had huge armies and I was weak, the two AI players on my continent (the Spanish and the Aztecs) waited until the mid-game when I was much further down the tech-tree than they were and able to produce vastly superior units. After surviving their initial onslaught, I didn't have much trouble fending them off, turning the tables, and wiping them off the map. Despite its flaws the game is painfully addictive. As things currently stand around the year 1800 the stupid Germans are trying to invade my continent with their missionaries and aposteles and spread their heathen religion. I just declared Jihad on them (holy war) so they will soon see the error of their ways.

I keep thinking this show is going to talk its foot off the gas pedal and I keep being wrong. Loved the use of nine inch nails this week.

Hamilton's America on PBS A PBS crew followed Lin-Manuel Miranda around for what looks like a few years as he prepared "Hamilton," put it on, and got to deal with the overwhelming public enthusiasm once it became a hit. PBS did a wonderful job with this. I'm more excited than ever to see "Hamilton" now when it comes to San Francisco next year. Can be streamed here: http://www.pbs.org/video/2365870668/

Yeah, that was not good. Thankfully they have all season to figure it out.

Even got the Draymond Green nut-shots in there. Bravo!

I plunked down for the version of Forza that includes all DLC so I'm committed.

Doug has my Ravenswood in house as well at the moment.

Very sad and most unfortunate that she didn't tell you what she was planning on doing so you could at least make an informed decision.

So I've been chatting with Brent regarding the next game we should play. My own personal vote is for Forza (great car action) or Gears 4 (best PvE of the group), both of which I'm currently playing and both of which I think are fantastic. Horde mode in Gears 4 is what Killing Floor 2 should have been. I am open to picking up one of either Titanfall 2 or Battlefield 1 if others are interested. Both BF1 and TF2 are also reviewing quite well.
