Cool angle of one of Sir Lewis' laps. Helps you realize just how absurdly fast these modern cars are. They take turns at speeds you couldn't even come close to in another other than an ultra-high downforce ground effect car. Fighter pilot level g-forces in the turns as well.

Live album from the Rumors tour in '77. Pretty solid! I think Lindsay's guitar and Mic's drums sound great. The complex vocal harmonies do suffer a bit in a live setting though. Chris McVie's voice can get lost in the mix at times. https://music.apple.com/us/album/rumours-live/1696829962

Nice to see a race not won by the damn Bulls! Great win for Carlos.

Happy birthday, tall man!

Hoping for the best. Glad they got here out of there and people aren't waiting around to leave. After Paradise, CA and Lahaina, HI I am glad people understand these fires are no joke.

Happy birthday, John!

Good interview. I look forward to reading the book.

So unrelated to today's announcements, does anyone here use the spatial audio for music? I keep trying it and keep bouncing off it. Is 2-channel audio with headphones a problem that needed solving?

New Olivia Rodrigo. Yes, she has the full weight of the music-marketing-industrial complex behind her, but for some reason I find myself cheering for this girl. Pretty solid sophomore effort, I say. The rocker tracks are very fun.

So sad to hear. RIP Sophie.

Thankfully FPS is irrelevant when you are traversing the menus in the game. So many menus and loading screens! But yeah, this color thing is embarrassing. Come on, Bethesda.

Is it just me or are the black levels totally washed out? Yeah... something is definetly wrong with the colors. I started on M+K but switched to game pad. What are you using, Fitz? EDIT: Ok, I'm not crazy. Other people are noticing it too. Something is very broken with the black levels.

Alvvays - Blue Rev. I like these people! This feels like indie pop with a touch of, dare I say, shoe-gaze? How could I say no? Planning on going through their entire back catalog.

I finished Succession. I was a bit late to the game on this one, but I have my reasons. I tried watching Season 1 back when it originally aired but I couldn't understand why people liked the show. Sure, there was wealth-porn for those that are in to that kind of thing, but the characters were so off-putting that I ended up tuning out about 3-4 episodes in. Fast forward to this year, and I decided to give the show another try given how buzzy people were talking about their final season. The critical excitement over the show served as a sort of implicit promise that if you can make it through season 1 that the journey is worth it. Now, having reached the end, I would say I enjoyed the show... but not anything more than that. This felt almost like a hate-watch as I really didn't cheer for any of the main characters. They all felt like such terrible people. Kendall had the energy to do the job but was a buzz-word loving airhead. Siobhan had the brains but over-played her hand and walked in to traps at every opportunity. Roman was just a monster. Like his dad but with none of his dad's redeeming qualities. Also as a beneficiary of of nepotism myself there was a certain amount of uncomfortableness in having that reflected back at me. Still, quality show, well acted, high production values, but not necessarily one I'd vouch for. I don't regret my time watching it but if they came out with a fifth season I am not sure I'd be excited to tune back in. The premise wore out its welcome for me sometime at the beginning of the last season.

The rock history podcast I listen to just had an episode on the Band and "The Weight." What a great goddamn song. Have heard it a million times and I could hear it a million more before I get sick of it. RIP Robbie, btw. https://500songs.com/podcast/episode-167-the-weight-by-the-band/ One of my favorite versions of it is on Before the Flood. Killer live album front to back.

I thought Sony already had a decent headphone lineup. I don’t really get this move. Great news for Audeze, on the other hand! I hate to say it, but I wouldn’t want to be getting in to the high end headphone market. At least as an apple user their stuff is so solid and the wireless connection so convenient that more often than not I’ll just put on the air pod max rather than fire up the main headphone rig.

Feel free to add me as a friend on steam, Rob! I'll follow along with your progress by looking at the steam achievements. I love talking about the game with people but I hate to spoil things. The joy of making discoveries in this game is unlike almost any other game I've ever played. Link to my steam profile: https://s.team/p/kwb-rtw/kbggtbtj

I have no idea why, but its a free country!

Yes. I hate high fantasy as well. It is not my genre of choice. Did not stop me from loving every minute of the 100-ish hours it took me to finish the game. If you could deal with fantasy in the Witcher 3 it's not any worse than that. Certainly it is far far more benign than FF14, which makes me queasy to even look at 😉.

2077 and Starfield... I want to be more excited but Baldur's Gate 3 was the best single player gaming experience I've ever hard. For them it will be like having to follow James Brown as an opening act. I hope they live up to the promise but I don't see either coming close to the quality of Baldur's Gate. I hope I am wrong about that.

I’m terribly sad about the news coming out of Hawaii with these fires. My family has been visiting Maui nearly every year since I’ve been born and I just can’t believe that in a single windy day and night the beautiful Town of Lahaina was completely burnt to the ground. RIP to those who were lost to the fire and my sympathies to those who made it out but lost their homes and businesses.
