This is interesting: https://techcrunch.com/2018/04/05/apples-2019-imac-pro-will-be-shaped-by-workflows/ I think the author is right that the delay to 2019 for the Mac Pro may be somewhat due to the tepid reception of the iMac Pro. I don't have any sales figures from which to judge, but I have to imagine that the iMac Pro has flopped awfully hard. I don't think it was really the answer most "pros" were looking for, in that it is not modular at all and it is severely thermally constrained under load. It sounds like they've gone back to the drawing board, which would be a very good thing.

Happy birthday, Mohawk-man!

I don’t get it either. Solidly engineered products at reasonable prices. They weren’t competing in the general consumer marketplace, but their prices were too high for that. I will be sad to see them go.

It popped up in Tidal Masters. Sure... why not?

A player on the Irish WBB team hit game winners to win both the semi-final and the championship this weekend. Holy shit!

Mentally and physically exhausted after clearing out and cleaning my old apartment. There is definitely something about packing each and every one of your worldly possessions that gets the emotions going. You wonder things like "how the hell did I ever acquire so much shit?" and "how the hell did all this shit ever fit in that tiny apartment?", but it also gives and opportunity to reflect on how you got to where you are and on all the family, friends, enemies and acquaintances who have been a part of your journey along the way. In any case, time to crack the good tequila, get drunk, and sleep for at least 10-12 hours.

Moving day! New furnitature looks amazing in the new place. Hat tip to @Hopstretch who sold me his family’s old dining room set. My old apartment was too small for a dining room table so I’ve been eating meals at home on the couch or at my desk for years. Now I get to eat at a table like an adult. Feels good, man!

Finished this last night. I thought it was ok. It is very short, so it went fast and didn't overstay its welcome. From what I've read since finishing the book the "Southern Reach" books were conceived all along as a trilogy, so I guess I can forgive the first book for being stingy with answers. I think I'll give the second book a shot and see how it goes. As for the movie? I haven't seen it yet but I think I might wait for it on video. From the trailer it looks like they took A LOT of liberties with the book. Maybe that is a good thing? I guess I'll find out eventually.

I know I've probably asked this question before, but I'm buying some new glasses for the house and I'm wondering what to go with for whisky consumption. Glencairn, Riedel-shape, tumbler, all of the above? I have one of the Riedel's now and I really like the thin glass, but I don't find the shape all that visually pleasing and as a predominantly wine drinker I have no idea where to grip a glass with such a short stem.

Of all the concerts of the last hundred years, that one might be at the top of my list of ones I wished I had been at.

Thomas Jefferson, rolling over in his grave.

RIP Dr. Hawking. A remarkable mind, and a remarkable story of perseverance. Like many here, I've read his book and enjoyed it even if I didn't fully understand its content. I'm not ashamed to say that cosmology is mostly beyond me, but it is a fascinating subject. I always liked his guest cameo on the Simpsons:

If your son has the game use family sharing to get it on your laptop and come try it with us. 3-Player co-op PvE is right up your alley.

Killing Floor 3 Surprisingly fun.

I'm with you on Saul. BB is probably the superior series for most but I enjoyed Saul more. It has a lot of charm for what it is.
