Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley's Beach Party It makes me sad we don't have more live albums of the rock pioneers in their prime. Bo and his boys absolutely shred here for a straight up 30 minute hit of adrenaline. With performers like Chuck Berry, Bo, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and others the studio recordings are ok, but these guys all spent their lives on the road performing to live audiences night-in and night-out. Live is how their art is meant to be experienced. It isn't until the Beatles and The Beach Boys before rock music starts doing things in the studio that could never be done in a live setting. I'm glad we at least have this gem from Bo's prime.

The fall concert season is going to be absolutely stacked with all the artists who weren't able to go on tour in 2020. So far I've bought tickets to: Julien Baker Waxahatchee Soccer Mommy and I'm sure there will be more to come.

Now that is how you end a basketball game. Wow!

Love that series, but it has been a long time since I played the original. I still think the DLC for Bioshock Infinite is some of the best DLC ever made for any game. I love the way it ties the entire series together.

Played it and loved it. I would have hated it for the reasons you specify, but the game constantly bread-crumbs you and leads you from place to place. I know being lead around really turns some people off, but I love it when developers do that in a smart way. A lot of the bread-crumbs in OW are hidden behind puzzles so it doesn't feel unearned when you find them.

I found a pretty cool youtube creator who's channel is called Game Maker's Toolkit. He has some very interesting videos. I really enjoyed this one. I've always wondered why it is that I am put off by some games that other people love. This video talks about one mechanic in a lot games that just constantly frustrates me, namely, navigation. I don't know what it is about my brain, but if a game drops me in an open world and expects me to explore, be curious, and make a mental map of the layout as I go I get frustrated and quit pretty quickly thereafter. It is a mechanic some people love, but I really do not. It is interesting to think about how many games are built around navigation as a core draw. Many of the Zelda games, Souls-borne, etc. I don't think I like any of them. Prior to watching this video I would not have been able to articulate why. Cool stuff.

The Fall - on Amazon Prime So Fiona Apple named her latest album after a line from this show. She is a pretty damn smart woman so I figured if she enjoyed the show it can't be that bad, right? Turns out Ms. Apple lead me down a good path! The Fall is a super-tense, deliberately paced police procedural set in Belfast. I finished the first series (season) and I'm hooked.

RIP, Elgin Baylor. I've always had a soft spot for those Baylor/West/Chamberlin Lakers squads. To go up against the Celtics year-after-year and lose again and again... that does something to a man. Poor Elgin retired just before they finally broke through in '72.

Fiona Apple - When the Pawn... She is so good. Been going back through her old back catalog.

Intel has got some real problems. What they need is better products. I am not sad to see Apple and AMD kick their ass. They have been a bully in the chip world for a long time.

Finally. Might be the beginning of the end for Tidal. Hopefully (cr)Apple Music feels they need to offer a lossless tier too to compete.
