First blood has been drawn! I got to hear the big first inning and Bum get out of the 2nd and 3rd with no one out jam right before I had to head in to the council chambers. By the time I got back in the car after our agenda item we were tacking on our 6th and 7th runs. It sounds like I caught the good parts of the game I get the feeling if the Giants get game 2 this series might be over before it really gets started. **crosses fingers*** Lets see how things go tonight. MLB would like this to go the distance but I'll take a sweep, please. Gotta love Panda. He is my favorite position player on the team for the joy he brings to the game and for how sneaky athletic he actually is at his size. In the post game interview Dave Flemming asked him what he thought of the noise level of the Royals fans before the game. His response? "Normal, pretty normal, nothing like our fans back in SF." Clearly a lie, but we love you anyways, Panda.

This morning I learned that I have to drive out with one of the partners at my firm from our office in Marin to go to 7PM city council meeting in the central valley. So much for watching game one on TV. At least there should be plenty of time to listen to John Miller and co. call a good chunk of the game on KNBR on the ride out. It beats the hell out of listening to Joe Buck.

Happy Birthday, DC!

You'd think ticket prices would be cheaper seeing as how we've been so often. Totally not the case. Everyone knows what a good time it is and prices are as high as they've ever been. Over the years I've been to every round of the playoffs except the World Series. I know I just bought a new car, but still, I'm going to try like hell to be there! I get the feeling its going to be a great series. I'd love to see the Giants sweep, but the Royals sure look like they come to play and play hard.

Not sure I would ever compare the Ishi walk-off to Bobby Thompson.

You know, I remembered having so much fun celebrating in the rain the last time we dispatched these guys in game 7 two years ago that I thought, what the hell, lets do it. Last night was more fun.

Wow. That was awesome. I thought we were done until that Morse hit. One of the biggest most timely hits I've ever seen. And that Afeldt out in the 9th. Wow. Congrats to Ishi for bringing it home.

Me personally, no. But people at my office? Yes. I'm not sure I would advise someone to get the iMac 5k when you can get one of those new mini's and pair it with a 599 dell 4k display for basically half the price.

Running off a laptop GPU? Thanks but no thanks.

MVP of the series so far? The Giants bullpen. Outside of Bum, every starting pitcher in this series has been toast. With the exception of game 2 the pen has been lights out all post season. I still can't believe we won the 18 inning game. Also, nice to see Buster step up and play like the superstar he is. Man are the Giants ever lucky to have him. He is the fulcrum the rest of the team pivots around.

Congrats to KC. Hopefully a few days rest cools them off a bit.

Phew. Did not want to lose that one. First game I've ever seen won by bunt-off.

Day game? No problem! Fox Sports Go app working like a charm.

I'm trying to get some tickets for Wednesday or Thursday night, but damn are people ever asking a lot. For the price of 4 good seats I could practically go out and get a 70" TV.

Ouch. Great game. Sucks to lose.

One down for the Giants, three to go. Can we change Pablo Sandoval's name to Senor Octobre? That was a balk, but thankfully the game wasn't close enough that it really mattered all that much. I kind of enjoyed the alternative broadcast, although I felt myself switch over the the regular broadcast early in the game. The alternative broadcast struggled early with focusing on the game action during high leverage situations, but they got quite a bit better as the game went on.

I liked the Rolling Thunder Revue, but this one is better:

I'm actually going to miss the Smoltz-Vasgersian announcing team. What a breath of fresh air they are. Smoltz is humble and easily relateable. Vasgersian calls a clean game and gets excited at the right times. They are so much nicer to listen to than the general awfulness of Joe Buck and Tim McDoofus. I thought Smoltz as the color-man was a nice change of pace from the gasbag that is our local color-man, Mike Krukow. Kruk is great for getting people in to the game, but his shtick wears thin after 15 years of watching Giants games.

The Giants may need a new 3rd base coach. Second time this series Posey gets cut down at home.

This Bryce Harper kid is good to quite good.

Listening to this for the first time on Spotify. I was late to the Spotify party, but now I'm hooked. Whoa... so different. I like it?

For DVD/Blu-Ray ripping I use MakeMKV. Works like a champ. As for MS Office alternatives that very much depends on your workflows. -
Dammit, Tyll. Your X2 review has me intrigued. As a longtime HD600 lover I figured I have to give them a try. I ordered a pair for the office.
