That's what I was thinking. Is there any harm leaving it as is? I'm ok with the results I'll check it tonight, anything is possible

Another one lives... This one is powering the IVY III output stage of my DAC. I populated all the resistors with the trim pots. I get -14.96 and +14.96 I noticed that when I adjusted the pots there was no change. I read that my 4.5 digit meter will not have the resolution to display what's being adjusted when I adjust the pot. Is that why I see no adjustment?

Mundorf makes a cap that'll fit and it's rated at 40V. It's probably not gonna make much difference but this one's going to power the output stage in my DAC and all the other PSU caps are mundorf so I was just trying to keep them all the same.

Can I use 40V caps for the large 4700 uf 50V caps? I think those see the rectified unregulated voltage. The transformer I'm using would be 15 VAC with primary at 115V. My mains usually run at 120 so maybe output would be 16VAC, 16 x 1.4 would put the unregulated voltage at 22.4 VDC. That's still ok right?

Thank you sir...

can someone tell me where R8 and R9 are on this board? I need to build it for 15V. I've circled the four 1.5K resistors are that I think are for setting the voltage. I also circled a 10 ohm at the top of the board and wondered if I needed to populate that?

I'd like to start planning my preamp using these boards. Does anyone see a problem with using AMB's LCDuino-1 and delta 1 and 2 setup for balanced?
-
ordered the parts and face plates today. Should be able to start the build next week

excellent.. I like the look of that. Thanks

My son is getting into vinyl and I'm not much into it myself so I don't know what a good entry turntable is. Any good suggestions?

not for my sausage fingers thats for sure!

is that 12 fans on a radiator? Replaced a fualty GFIC outlet in the dark outside with just a surefire M2 lighting the way. Didn't want to listen to "when can you fix the Christmas lights?" for the rest of the week in the morning and then again at dinner, and then just before bed.

built a tap of sorts to see what my STX build draws just to make sure the transformer I have is adequately sized. The max it pulled was 2.1 amps at 19Vdc durring a CPU stress test. Salas says make sure you have 2x the capacity. Pars built the Dynalo Mini in the picture

I'll drop Tidal in the next few weeks. Amazon Music HD for 12.99/mo for prime members is hard to beat. No difference in quality that I can hear so far
-
ah hah, so the app that I was reading about is not the existing one. The only thing I can think of is the silicondust Prime and then find a storage area for your recordings. The Prime 6 looks like it's gonna be deep into 2020 before it sees the light of the day unless you want to buy a prime 3 off ebay. I'll keep looking to see what I find

I just realized that The Tivo bolt must transcode the show so you can watch it via the app. This is why it's a show by show type deal instead of just streaming the live TV channel without stopping. At least I think that's what it is. Might be worth it to buy the shield (if the Tivo app works on it), then buy a silicondust prime 3 box (used off ebay) and run all three devices. That way the Bolt remains your DVR, the Silicondust prime serves live TV. Doing it that way allows you to watch live TV, your recorded shows, and all the apps that you can't get on the Tivo. Then when time and money permits you can build a NAS, subscribe to silicondust's DVR service and ditch the Tivo altogether.

Wow, the pro has plex media server built in. That's a plus. It says expandable with USB storage or hard drives but not sure if you can put one inside like the earlier versions. so far I can't get it working on Android 5. Now that there's new shields out I'll watch ebay for the previous version to see if they drop in price. I also want to try the Apple TV. The 4th generation non 4K goes for $70 or so on ebay so it's worth a try just to see if I can live with the Tivo app and the way it works

got a cheap magicom G box and was at least able to get the tivo app to load but it won't launch. I did get the Tivo app to work from IOS devices in the house and it works quite well but not the way I was hoping. When streaming live TV you must watch and record at the same time. Thats not a huge deal but I think it's going to stop at the end of the show and not continue to the next unless you do something. I'll test it some more but I'm pretty sure an android box is out because there wasn't much success getting the tivo app to work. Hopefully silicondust releases the prime 6 soon so I can ditch the Tivo, keep verizon FIOS, and still have a DVR
-
That box didn't work. Booted ok, connected to wireless no problem. Caant update netflix app. Installed apps crash or just cant navigate. Couldn't install Tivo app, says unsupported

Removed a dead possum from my garage. I have a detached garage that I only go in every once and a while. Looked like a possum got in there and couldn't get out.

I ordered this for $26 just to see how the Tivo app works and as sort of a POC. It should be here Sunday. We'll see what happens https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L4MHMQW/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went down that route a few years ago and it was a solid choice. My problems were (back when I tried it) the bluetooth keyboard kept disconnecting and the script to map my nas shares was 50/50. That being said I was going to look at an apple TV. The shield looks real good though combined with the silicondust prime
-
That silicon dust box looks cool. Looks like you can replace the Tivo with it by adding their DVR service and a NAS. I'll have to look at that a little deeper
-
That I'm not sure. I was hoping you can still steam live TV from the main Tivo through the app. It looks like you can https://explore.tivo.com/how-to/tivo-app-android.html I think this could replace the mini. I want access to more streaming services but don't want to ditch the Tivo because as a DVR it work well with Fios. I think the providers are looking at the Tivo platform as legacy and just not providing support. I know they have a new platform but I want to have a software solution like you said
-
I need some recommendations for an Android TV box. No Amazon products. I need it to replace a Tivo mini. I'm looking for it to support the Tivo app so I can stream from my DVR (tivo bolt), Netflix, Hulu, and prime and the upcoming Disney+ This is stemming from the app performance of the Tivo mini. Hulu, Prime, and Netflix all crash and Disney+ will not be available as an app for Tivo or through Amazon channels, or on Amazon fire devices so I'd like to kill two birds by replacing the mini with an Android TV device. This should allow for better app performance, let me retain Tivo access, and add Disney+. With that being said, there are so many out there so I'm looking for ones that people have had success with.
