Happy Birthday Bryan, eat, drink and be merry.

Sorry to hear about Ozzy. Hang in there for the precious moments you have left.

I love Lobster rolls, whish we had a place that served them out here in the hinterlands. Mike those ribs look mighty tasty.

Yeah, if you are watching a particular match involving your player or child you really need to be focused because the action, even at the junior/cadet level is really fast. Instant replays and slow motion would definitely have come in handy because I had a lot of those "what just happened" moments. On another note it is hard to imagine a bench clearing brawl at a fencing tournament, too much etiquette.

Yep, it takes tremendous concentration, speed and technique..... and that's just being a spectator. So far I have been really impressed with the manners and character of the fencers I have seen at these tournaments.

Hah! Al knows how people at headfi always assumed your name was Phil. Happy birthday Dox! (Jason)

Ric, you have great perspective on what could have been aweful and very glad no one was injured.

Pretty awesome stuff Wayne. I don't know how you can keep up that pace of visits/appearances but your energy level and commitment are commendable.

Happy Birthday to two good fellas--

Received a couple of weird texts on my phone from someone I don't know wanting to get together...... Kidding. Just returned from a day long fencing tournament that is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way. The temperature outside was 45 degrees and the gym was about the same. Froze my buns off for five hours but it was worth it to see Lance make the semi-finals only to lose to the top seed. Fencing is a very interesting sport when viewed up close but probably boring when watching on the tele.

And their turntable builds are pretty cool as well. I wish there was a local showroom around here for demos.

Ditto on Todd's suggestion. Down here where earthquakes are always a consideration, we use these on the TVs that sit on cabinets. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sanus-elements-antitip-strap-for-most-flat-panel-tvs-up-to-60-black/1588032.p?id=1218270599213&skuId=1588032 or any variation there of...

Happy Birthday Alex.

IMHO if you are going to spend well north of $1K, custom IEMs are the only option for that last bit of performance. Having said that, a great audiologist who can achieve that near perfect fit is paramount otherwise with a bad fit you have a small incremental improvement over a universal fit iem. Luckily John turned me on to a local audiologist who fitted me perfectly the first time.

Sorry for your loss Larry. Greystone looked like a very sweet kitty.

I guess you won't be posting in the "What Are You BBQing" thread for a while?

Well it was around 54 here as well.....in the morning, but now it is around 84 degrees. Thirty to forty degree swings in temperature throughout the day is not that unusual for us.

Happy Birthday Dinny! Have a smooth and uneventful surgery.

Speedy recovery Justin.

Actually this was yesterday but I intended to post this yesterday in which case it would have been current for this thread. Took my youngest to a event called "For The Troops" as part of his community service project. For those who don't know, For the Troops is a volunteer organization that collects personal goods, candy DVDs, books and a whole range of items to ship to service personnel deployed in Afganistan among other places. For such a small store front they have managed to collect quite a haul-- . This represents about one tenth of the boxes they had stacked in every corner and room. What my son and his classmates were tasked to do was to fill little shoe boxes with various items for each soldier, marine, sailor airman etc. While helping stuff a few boxes and envelopes I asked one of the volunteers there when they would be shipping out these boxes because soon they would be out of workspace. Her answer was " We can't ship anything out yet, we have no money for postage" WTF??? Really?? They are just now starting a fund raising campaign for postage but that could take a while. So it makes sense to split the Head Case Bottle Breacher money between For The Troops to get the shipping ball rolling and the other half goes to the Naval Special Warfare Family Foundation. So, there it is, something to think about when you crack open your beers. Cheers all and thanks!!

Tyll, man, that guy thelostmidrange who posted in your Mastering Your Domains thread is a real whacko and seems ready to blow at any moment. I hope I don't live near him.
