  1. Inspired by Mikey having another glass of Padrone. Shelly wins this round with the Saaazzzzz.... Jim gets first runner up for prettiest pre-drink pic.
  2. Rodrigo y Gabriela- This rocks!
  3. Signorello Padrone Red Wine. Really interesting stuff, now decanting because it is a young 2007 and the alcohol is 15.6 percent. The grapes are estate sourced from their hillside Silverado Trail vineyard. Silverado Trail is where a lot of the great Cabernets come from and what makes this very interesting is that they have a very low 1.3 ton per acre yield. This has some real potential. It's been two hours of decanting and it is still pretty tight but showing potential. Much better bouquet now, at first open it had that Bordeaux dog fart aroma but thankfully that part has settled down.
  4. I am a big fan of Christian McBride, Steve Gadd, Everette Harp and consider Hajime the owner of East Winds Imports a good friend. I am sadden by the huge devastation that Japan has experienced with the tsunami and thought I would just pass this along. Jazz for Japan.
  5. Dinny, does that label remind you of Leona Helmsley or is it just me? *or all the La Jota CabernetI am drinking
  6. Hey, what am I, dirt? Where ae my fries?.... and beer for that matter.
  7. Sorry for your bad luck Al,we had a horrendous storm down here as well, worst ever. I am certain some of the wind gusts were 60mph+. Had a huge pine tree branch from one of our trees take out the neighbors fence so today I had to partially supervise the tree trimmers. Giving five tall pine trees a haircut gets expensive, guess I will have to postpone purchasing the Bellatone Audio amp for the rest of the year. Toasting Harry Houdini and hoping your bad luck goes away with a La Jota Howell Mountain Cab.
  8. I don't agree at all- <...>
  9. Evidently I bought two cases of Peter Michael wine back in February while visiting the winery and drinking/tasting an awful lot of their wine. This is really good Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Bordeaux style reds so I am OK with the surprise. I also received a case of Kosta Browne Pinot today which I like a lot so I guess it's gonna be a living large BBQing summer and if we make it to the beach you will see a lot of the same beach scene and wine glass postings from me.
  10. Moar La Jota Cab. Evidently I just bought two cases of Peter Michael Chardonnay and Les Pavots, summer BBQing should be fun. Some day I will learn not to shop for wine whilst drinking large quantities of wine and listening to jazz music while overlooking a fantastic scenic Oakville Valley vineyard.
  11. I am a big fan of magic and have been many times to the Magic Castle here in Hollywood. You have not lived until you have seen live close up magic. Happy Birthday Harry, tomorrow evening we will conduct a séance to check in.
  12. Glad to hear Carl!
  13. Somehow ordering a plate of crappie would take some real leap of faith for me.
  14. Wishing your Mom a speedy recovery and a better day/week for you my friend. Hang in there. Sorry, I guess I shouldn't say "hang" to a juror. Sorry.
  15. Hey Duggeh, that's how I make my living thank you! Works in California.
  16. La Jota Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Great nose lush on the palate. Tastes just like the ava would taste.
  17. Happy Happy big one guys!
  18. Happy Birthday and many happy returns! Got my inspiration from the Hallmark card store, neat huh?
  19. Reks, I dig that Chucho Valdez Cd, how does it sound on your system? Do you get all of that bass detail? On my headphone system and speakers this CD seems to have pretty good dynamics and realism.
  20. Blackbird Vineyards Arise taking forever to open up. It's a 2008 and hasen't been open for too long so like Mikey's SB it is tasting kinda hot. Needs moar O2.
  21. Is that a cocktail or weekend BBQ?
  22. Cool cup Marc! I have a picture somewhere of me standing next to the real thing way back when though I don't recall a gift shop anywhere near there.

  25. Yeah you say that now but wait until the summer when you need shade to cool off while you run through all of Al's cocktail recipies then the tree is your drinking best buddy.
