  7. Ok, I feel compelled to post this even though I decided not to. So Sunday afternoon, Mary and I are sitting out in the 85 degree sunshine of our back yard catching up on things. With two working parents and a plethora of summer kids obligations our conversations are limited to 20 second sound bites as we pass each other in the family room or kitchen. Ok, so as I am talking to Mary then I hear this whoosh in the air just over my head as if some center fielder just made a cut off throw to home plate followed by what I see in my peripheral is a splash of water about 18 inches high. I jump up and run over to the direction of the splash which is no more than 15 feet away expecting to see a dead duck or hawk but what I see is a irregular chunck of ice the size of a softball. At first I though it might be some neighbors playing a joke but the ice hit with such velocity and the direction of the splash seemed to indicate a mostly vertical trajectory. And yes we are sometimes on the flight path to LAX but the planes usually appear to be 12-26K elevation, rarely hear the engine noise except for those bigaz Airbus ones. I guess we snagged some or your good luck that day.
  8. Shelly, I think you are finally ready for that cable reality show gig. Wow, if I didn't know you I would say someone is posting BS on this thread, sadly, it really is happening to you. I hope your luck improves real soon.
  9. What John said. Here in Cali the tax rebate is pretty decent and worth the paperwork.
  10. Jim, drink lots of cold beer until December, then it won't matter. (don't take it seriously)
  11. Nah, gas is just more convenient for us and doesn't require storing bags of charcoal and with the amount of cooking we do on the grill that can amount to a lot of charcoal. Besides, my grill has smoker drawers which I fill with mesquite or applewood chips when needed. Definitely ever thing involving fire is a concern here, each year the fire department sends homeowners a notice reminding us to maintain a 100 ft. brush free zone around our homes.
  12. Well I thought the fire pit would compliment the tiki bar you were installing to show off your cocktailing skills. Charcoaling in our municipality is a EPA code violation and subject to stiff fines or a week of forced tree hugging.
  13. Not that you need/want to be considering spending more money at the moment but have you considered having additional lines run and capped for a future BBQ, firepit, and outdoor heaters? Installing them later on should be a relative snap since the lines and connectors will be in place.
  14. I have always felt that the Olympics track and field events, especially the hurdles are the best sports events evah.... http://youtu.be/-qhR0Ie64PI

  20. Sorry to hear that Shelly.
  21. I say you start a thread on HeadFi stating that this is your PS1000 with the quantum particle mod. I will shill for you and say it sounds awesome and that you are the resident genius.
  22. Sorry Jacob. Dan is right, things will work out in the end so hang in there and try to listen to some tunes to relax.
  23. One half hour til the Chateau Montelena wine tasting event..............woohoo!
