Since someone asked for it: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4NVeoQi85GgOTdvOGpxc1hyRFU/edit?usp=sharing Courtesy of johnwmclean

An all smd Dynahi would be feasible Won't do much with high voltage amp though...
-
Yeah, I know that. Just want to know the thickness of the plated layer. 1-3um is what I normally got from the the factory.
-
Those are beautiful boards, Kerry. What is the thickness of the gold plating?

The 400mm heatsink I am thinking of using is also off-the-shelf. The cost is not really much more than sticking 2 shorter pieces together. Plus, more work required to make those 2 looks like a single piece. Just not worth the hassle, imo. From what I got from my contact, those chunk of 400mm heatsinks (80 pieces) weighs 160 kgs (350 lbs). All I want is the most seamless and 'invisible' chassis possible. All the screws on top plate will be countersunk and there won't be visible screws in the front panels. There will be many more options during the build, I will make sure everyone is all ok before moving forward.

I just got the quote from the manufacturer for 3mm thick boards, 4oz, blue soldermask and gold plated through holes. There is a small price bump for each set ($20) from the last run because processing fee for new revised boards is applied. I did ask for 25 sets to keep the price sane enough. ETA 3 weeks after confirmation.

I updated the KGSSHV's site a bit for more details. Ti/AMB works is exceptional, so please don't expect everything is the same.

The boards were revised a bit to fit the 400mm heatsinks. Still waiting for price quotes of custom die. I am asking for 4oz copper and 3mm thick boards this time. Would be bulletproof and rock stable. Anyone wants different soldermask, instead of standard green? White or Blue is my favorite. Gold-plated holes?

It was already said in this thread. Only 1 is enough for balanced. No PSU. Would appreciate if you could read this thread from page 1.

Contact dmanquen at msn.com and ask for the PG. No waiting time.

Yes.

Not sure yet but I am aiming at $1k-$1.25k for a pair of chassis. This includes powder coating and laser engraving. I initially thought of providing parts only but decided to go full set.
-
It won't cost more than the first run by KG, hopefully. Talking with various shops to find out the best one. Also prefer a single piece of heatsink. Been thinking of spending a bit to make a whole custom die. Not sure how much it would cost though.

We are reaching 15 people on the list I'd like to ask, how many of you guys already have the boards? After a long search, I've found a factory that could offer 400mm or 404mm long heatsinks. Problem is, the amp board is 407mm long. So if I go with either of these 'sinks, the board needed to be trimmed down some final mm. This would consequently affect those who already got the boards. Another option is sticking 2 pieces of 'sinks together which is easy.

Shouldn't be a problem with that. Just check your auto-calculated total, if it's correct, then you are good to go.
-
I do order extra boards so feel free to fill in the spreadsheet.
-
I will get more details regarding the T2 chassis later next week.
-
I will try to add more info later on when there are more finished builds.
-
It's the BOM for the latest onboard version so it might look different from before.
-
Some people might jump out of the list, plus I do order extra boards. Feel free to fill in your name in the spreadsheet. BTW, I updated BOMs for all the boards, linky under sig. Not totally perfect though, still improving them. Feel free to let me know if I missed anything.

If you are using the 2sa1486, then no 270v zeners.
-
You need to use 270v zener if opting for the ksc and ksa. Also, total of diode strings is 500v for 450vdc and 550v for 500vdc output.
-
We need to reach 15 people first, then I will talk with the machinist and get the ETA. Probably a month or so.

I could arrange a shipment from satodenki for genuine and much cheaper sands for the T2. Boards are no problem at all. PM me and I could point you to places that have reasonable parts. I made a big mistake not getting my hands on KG's chassis and I do know lots of people feel the same way.
