I mean it only as a sign of respect. Anytime someone mentions George Harrison, I get that melody stuck in my head for hours. Whistling it now as I type.
Since most all of my listening is done through usb, I'm tempted to pick up this board for the improved USB connection. Then again, spending another $800 takes the PWD a bit past the pricepoint I was originally wanting to pay for a DAC.
When I built my reg. kgss, I set the input fets close to each other, but didn't bother gluing them. The dc offset never got too out of hand. It did move a bit more than I liked during warm-up, but it was still well within safe limits.
I've pulled my sr007 apart. If i'm on the same page with you here, you'll have to disassemble your driver housing to get inside the piece you're looking at. Not a very minor job.
Yamas wanted $1800 for driver replacement (replaced with mk2)... more expensive than just getting another sr007 mk1. They're awful and should be bypassed whenever possible.
From yamas: "There is only 1 driver for both MK1 and MK2 and cost is approx. $1800."
Anyone have some lube? Apparently replacing the drivers on my mk1 to make it an ugly mk2 will cost more than buying another mk1.
Is there any way to source these? I believe my squealing SR007 need new drivers and I'm too afraid to send the pair to yamas. I fear they'll just put on mk2 drivers, charge me a whole bunch of money, and you'll all have to witness a grown man crying.
Guess it's time to start that DIY Time Dilator thread you've been dreaming about.
Libya's in shambles... probably wouldn't be too hard to get some plutonium now.
Updated spreadsheet for my requested items.
Looking to get 3 KGSSHV sets. One with on-board sinks, two with off-board sinks.
Also looking for one dynahi and one dynafet boardset, each with 2 psus.
