  1. I love Apple but they should stop the walled garden bullshit approach they're taking with the iphone right now.
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. Really cool, I didn't know about that Fluke Flac thing. Will have to try it later as well.

  5. Congrats! Afaik, there's no way to get FLAC to work with itunes. There's a plugin to let itunes handle .ogg but that's about it.

  7. I think the main problem is the 3.5mm jack. The newer ipods are reported to have problems with those because the connection is too loose. Try using a 3.5mm to 3.7mm adapter.
  8. Itunes and Mp3 at around 256 kbps. I can't decide so I like to carry most of music around in my Macbook. Controlling itunes via Butler because its itunes interface is better than Quicksilver's (and the only thing I Butler for).

  10. I hope they'll also either bring out an updated Macbook Air or an aluminium Macbook with backlit keyboard soon.
  11. Bought my first golf club, some kind of beginner iron for the driving range. Just had my third lesson today because my uncle is getting them for free. Never thought I'd touch a golf club before the age of 50 but it's surprisingly fun to play.
  12. Seems like a combination of pushups, pullups and some situps should do the trick. Thanks for the tips. As effective as it might be, I'm not really a fan of the gym, and most of all I don't think I could muster the motivation and/or discipline to go there on a regular basis. I'd rather play soccer or squash if I have the time, and don't need a lot of muscles anyway.
  13. Lately I've been trying to follow the push-up routine from one hundred push ups, which sounds like a good idea: 100 push-ups within a couple of weeks. Let's see if it works out (I started out at 19 max). Do you have a workout routine you use or can recommend, especially to gain some upper body strength and mass? Not trying to look good on the beach (there's isn't one here anyway), just want a more healthy mix between an underdeveloped upper body and soccer-abused lower body.
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Bowls. For an affordable price, I liked the Mad Ear++ with the PS-1. But tubes in general.
  16. I doubt it's going to be as authoritative as wikipedia because it doesn't allow for collaborative work. But it's a great complementary service because it doesn't allow of collaborative work and so eliminates the need for objectivity, however vague that might be on wiki. Besides catering more directly to the exhibitionistic self-portrayal needs in all of us, the fact that authors can make money from ads should be another strong incentive.
  17. The thing I miss the most from my old MBP is the backlit keyboard. I often find myself working under bad lighting conditions, and this is one of the reasons I want to get me a Macbook Air as soon as I have money again, and because having a Macbook doesn't make me stand out at Starbucks anymore. The MBP has slightly worse wifi reception than the MB. Faraday and all that.
  18. You might get a better response at 4chan, or just stop trying so hard, or just stop posting.
  19. Just watched both National Treasure movies and liked them both. Good, simple entertainment.
  20. Happy Birthday!!
  21. They teach that at Chinese business schools, no joke. First brainstorming session I had with Chinese interns about website promotion gave some results like shilling on forums, bribing bloggers and mods. Then again, forum culture takes on an entirely new dimension in China when you have CNET-China purchase forums on a regular basis with going prices at $1-2 million, cash.
  22. Communism's been over ever since Starbucks moved into the Forbidden City.
  23. Not sure what you guys did to land on the blacklist but I can't reach HC in China without going through a proxy. Or maybe your IP neighbours did something and the whole ip block was blocked.
  24. Actually, that plate alone was just $55 and that's already upper class sushi. China is cheap
