I just ordered a Music Hall MMF 2.2 with an Ortofon 2M Blue. It requires a different counterweight to support the Ortofon, and I added a Music Hall cork mat. $684 out the door from NeedleDoctor. I did a fair amount of research before going this route. My Emotiva USP-1 preamp has the phono stage. I should have it this week and then can post impressions. My previous TT was a Dual with the Ortofon 2M Red.

Colin, since I've not seen you wearing glasses I assume you are a contact wearer. If so, you'll need to stop using your contacts 2-3 weeks prior to surgery to let your eyes reshape. I don't have to do that since I wear glasses exclusively. I'll let you know more after Thursday.

Went and had my eyes evaluated to see if I qualify for Lasik surgery. I do and will be having said surgery next Thursday. I'm very excited to get rid of glasses. So much so that I inadvertently broke my regular glasses this morning. Not quite ironic but predictive maybe? I'll get by with my sunglasses for a week.

Getting ready for the madness that will be new engines and aero. This should be very interesting.

Progressives for quite some time. No problems for the most part, but I also have specific distance lenses for monitor viewing at work. And the bed/tv thing John describes is bothersome. But after almost 50 years of wearing glasses I'm going for LASIK evaluation next week. I'm just tired of glasses.
