  1. Happy Birthday Ben!
  2. Ok Dinny, I can now cheer for the Rangers.
  3. I , on the other hand, have summoned other Chicago demons. Yes, Red Vodka will cheer on the Hawks.
  4. Some people dis the Dark Lord. They would be wrong.
  5. FFF wings with pickled watermelon.
  6. New York has a hockey team? (Ducks and covers)
  7. Did a butterflied boneless pork chop (split in two for Debbie and I) on the Weber and Brussel Sprouts on the side burner in cast iron with a metric fuckton of butter and a little olive oil to keep things from burning. No pics as we were too busy eating. And it was delicious if I do say so myself.
  8. We did lamb pops on the Weber kettle with MikFoJo sauce. That's Mike, Forest and John sauce. We threw it together today with orange juice, olive oil, garlic, rosemary, honey and dark rum. We basted the lamb with this and it was pretty damned good.
  9. I fear not well Antonio. We shall see.
  10. Well, Lewis and Nico seem to be getting along great now...
  11. Stopped at Fast Eddie's Bon Air for fresh shrimp and meats on sticks (beef, pork). Almost 100 peel and eat shrimp between the five of us. Yum!
  12. Happy Birthday Brent!
  13. Congratulations Al and Karyl!!
  14. Happy Birthday my friend! Have a great day and steer clear of the beer douches.
  15. Except I HATE black wheels. HATE. I looked and the other colors do not impress. And the Andros still weigh less.
  16. Make that 3..... Yeah, losing on home ice won't come back to bite them...
  17. Excellent. Here's to many more.
  18. You mean ugly?
  19. I actually saw those on display at Tire Rack a couple of years ago. I was slack jawed. Probably going with Andros Spec D's.
  20. I considered that Dan, but the thought of losing 5 lbs of unsprung weight on each corner appeals to me more. And so like audio equipment, I can then justify (rationalize) the extra outlay.
  21. So a couple of weekends ago we drove down to Indy to watch the inaugural Indy Grand Prix on the Speedway's road course. Driving there in the morning, I lost in a game of "dodge the I-65 massive potholes", nailing one with the right-front wheel at about 80 MPH. At first I thought I was ok as there was a slight bend to the wheel and no air loss over then next three days. On the fourth day however, I noticed a hairline crack just under that slight bend. So on went the spare. Tonight I took the GTI in for 30,000 mile service and while there asked how much to replace the wheel. I knew the answer would be laughable - I was not disappointed. $565 for one 18" OEM wheel. So I just did some surfing on TireRack.com and found I can get a full set of 18" wheels that weigh 5 lbs. per wheel less for $660. I think I know which way I'll go.
  22. OK, I can buy that.
  23. Looks very good Adrian. No pics, but we did New York strips at 128F for 2.5 hours, then seared for 60 seconds per side on the grill.. Very tender and juicy. I've read that sous vide meat does not need to be rested, but that may be bad info. We have not been resting and have seen juice like you show in your pic, but the actual meat shows no loss of juiciness. That's a word, right?
  24. Sous vide scrambled eggs, bacon and rye toast. Eggs were cooked 20 minutes @ 167 F.
  25. Happy Birthday Chris!!
