  1. A few months ago, Gene sent me some beer. One of those was a beer brewed by Matt. He told me to drink it at an appropriate time. With Jacob here I figured it was time. We miss you Matt. Cheers.
  2. Jacob making a chimichurri to go with the chuck steak. Debbie is helping.
  3. Thanks for that Wayne.
  4. Eventually I'd like a chamber vacuum sealer. Dusty, with a chamber the entire bag goes in a vacuum chamber so pressure is equal on all sides thus no liquid movement. But they are expensive.
  5. This one. It does very well unless you have liquid in the bag - it tends to suck it into the unit. You can keep that from happening by manually stopping the vacuum when the liquid gets close to the inlet. Not as complete a vacuum job, but it has worked for us. So far we really like it.
  6. Warming up the water bath for a chuck steak experiment. 26 hours at 131 F. My guinea pig tomorrow night will be a certain Mr. Reks.
  7. Happy Birthday Matt. I will toast you this weekend with another friend of yours.
  8. Yep. Hits well above its weight.
  9. Happy Birthday!!
  10. We'll go Jacob.
  11. He's not in that boat alone. Get better Brent.
  12. LOL Brent, don't fuck with that shit. It'll kill ya. Are pinata's a thing at Mexican funerals? Cuz that would be cool. Seriously, get checked out or we will kick your ass. And be sad.
  13. That is one good looking steak sir.
  14. Fuck. Just fuck.
  15. You know you're welcome any time Colin. Just give us a bit of lead time.
  16. Three Floyd's ramen. Poached egg, seared bacon, braised mustard seed, pickled radish and scallions. It very much did not suck.
  17. Chili on corn bread waffles with finely shredded cheddar, over easy egg and fresh pico de gallo. It were delish. Oh, almost forgot - a glass of Bully from the Wine Dude. No suckage here.
  18. Our Non-Award Winning Chili, in preparation for chili and cornbread waffles tonight.
  19. Cool. Tell her to tell him that we love his product.
  20. My condolences Wayne.
  21. Grilled shrimp that were marinated in fresh lime juice and olive oil, then dusted with chili powder. Accompanied by gazpacho made from scratch. A nice Riesling and some crusty bread rounded things out quite nicely.
  22. Brindle girls are slightly evil, devious and yet the absolute most lovable. My condolences. I will never forget my brindle girl Gypsy, and Neko I'm sure will remain in your hearts forever.
  23. RIP Dick Wagner, guitarist extraordinaire. Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel and Alice Cooper all used his services. Queing up Rock and Roll Animal and Gabriel's first album to pay tribute. http://m.rollingstone.com/music/news/dick-wagner-guitarist-for-alice-cooper-and-lou-reed-dead-at-71-20140730
  24. I (and I believe others here) have been very happy with my Weber Genesis gas grill. But yeah, I'd love a Traeger. Or Green Egg. HC World problems.
