Took the Ex to the grocery store. Went to Mom's and dropped off zucchini, blueberries, watermelon. Lopped branches off a couple of trees at the Ex's and mowed the lawn. Grilled. Now enjoying some beers.
The Minutemen. I was always an East Coast and British Punk kinda guy. I mean I heard and liked Fear and the DK's, but somehow I totally missed the Minutemen. I picked up Double Nickel's on the Dime and it is just awesome.
Harry Chapin's "Taxi" because I'm familiar with it and it has a bit of everything. And "In My Room" by the Beach Boys. If I like the definition in the harmonies, I like the gear.
I received my Acer Aspire One D150 this week. I upgraded the RAM to 2gb and loaded Win7 RC from a thumb drive. So far I think they are an excellent combo. Performance seems crisp and after the horror story that was Vista, I think this will be a good OS for MS and those who use it.
As for the Aspire, it's a big step up from the original Eee PC I have. I can actually type on this (as well as a non-touch typist can). It doesn't run overly hot and with the 6 cell battery I have seen battery life around 5.5 hours so far. I'm pretty happy with the purchase.
The ex and I had to have the last of our greyhounds put to sleep today. Gypsy was a mischievious girl who always grabbed your heart and made you smile. A little brindle girl, she was always my favorite. In recent times kidney disease took over and in the end she stopped eating and was slowly wasting away. So today we ended her pain.
My great comfort is that, due to staying here helping my ex convalesce from her accident, I got to spend the last two weeks with Gypsy. Several times during those days there was a glimpse of that mischief in her eyes that made me so happy.
If ya got a dog around the house give 'em a ear scritch for me. It's awful empty in this house tonight.
Due to her having an accident, I'm back in my old house helping care for my ex-wife. Which means I'm also back in the world of kitties. I didn't realize just how much I missed the little furballs. Is there anything more peaceful than a sleeping cat in your lap?
I did what I'll be doing for the next several weeks - helped care for my ex-wife who shattered her kneecap in a motorcycle accident. A stupendous case of Fail on her part; she totalled a motorcycle and herself during her first riding lesson.
I couldn't agree more. After the Jackson Five I just never could get into him. And I grew up mere miles from his home town of Gary. It's sad that he died so young but people on TV deifying him seems a bit much...
And it makes me think - he's less than a year younger than me.
Jacob, unassuming? You didn't meet the evil Jacob I did. "Yeah, you need a better source. Opus 21 or Audio Aero should do..." that Jacob. The bastard.
Regardless, welcome! Or in the fine Head-Case tradition, piss off.
Ghost looks awesome! I had a mostly Maine Coon years back and he was one hell of a cat. He adopted the ex and I by hanging on the kitchen screen for days on end until we finally let him in. He spent the next 18 years with us and was an amazing cat. He used to bite the ex-wife on the head in the morning to wake her up!
Sending Ghost more head rubs and a belly scratch (if he is into that).
