Just got the speaker rig back together this weekend. A lot of tweaking to do to the room, and probably a speaker upgrade in my near future, but goddamn, having a dedicated room makes a big difference. Even if it is small. Currently listening to ITCOTCK as it is my favorite album of all time. And it is sounding pretty damned sweet. I am so looking forward to evolving this system...

Not a father myself, but I'm having fond memories of my Dad this morning. Fondest of all is that in my young adult years, he and I could sit and talk for hours. I miss that now. Anywhere in Europe during July/August/September would be attractive to me as it would plonk me down smack in the middle of the Grand Prix season. So in addition to hanging with you crazy kids, I might get to visit somewhere historic like Spa-Francorchamps or Monza. All it takes is cash and with 24 months I might be able to scrape it up.

Agreed. That offer made me laugh a lot. And none of the iPhone nav apps seem to do as much as well as the $99 refurbed Garmin I bought. And as you said, without a wired power hookup you're lucky to get an hours use. The iPhone is damned good at many things but is not the end-all and be-all that many people claim. Spent many hours moving little stuff from the apartment to the new townhouse. The big stuff moves on Monday via paid movers. The new place will be nice, with the third bedroom becoming the music room. It's not ideal, but it should be workable. And Debbie's brother-in-law brought us a wonderful housewarming gift - another bottle of the Dark Lord! He is really one hell of a guy.

The best part of the entire weekend was meeting and hanging with all of these wonderful people. I listened to some gear but mostly the time was spent chatting with all of the people whose names I knew from Head-Case but had not met. Everyone I met was gracious and friendly, despite their reputations here. So I would definitely suggest you go to a major gathering as these folks truly are the best. Except Reks. He's an (Just kidding Jacob. You know I love you. But not in an swt61 way...)
