  1. Happy birthday Steve!
  2. As much as I love making electrostatic headphones, I don't think that I will ever make them for money. I'm just too busy with my work, and I really prefer sharing my knowledge and encouraging people to try to build them by themselves. I am willing to share everything of my design with everyone. Just let me know if you're interested to build. By the way, making a pair of good sounding electrostatic headphones isn't that difficult, but to make them as efficient as Stax headphones is not so easy. Until MrSpeakers and Phenomenon can make their phones to sound as loud as Stax, I would say that they still have a lot to learn.
  3. I always keep many parts as spares. If you need anything fast, let me know.
  4. The picture could be from my thread on the other site. I remember I saw it sometime ago. Since the stators are not insulated and with too high volume played, the arc is very possible.
  5. Wow. Those are pretty bad arc spots.
  6. Could you take a lot of pictures to show the inside of the driver?
  7. If you guys in Taiwan are interested in DIY electrostatic headphones, I can bring mine for you to try the next time I'm in Taiwan. 可能在明年四到五月.
  8. 我常去台灣.
  9. I'm making a GG and will be using this GRHV board as well. How can I enable the time delay HV function? How long does it delay the HV to come up? Do I need other circuits to work together with this function?
  10. PM Spritzer and kindly ask him to build you a Carbon.
  11. Congratulations!
  12. You might consider putting a thick coating of clear nail polish over the copper trace. It's a very good insulator.
  13. I really feel that those perorated holes on the back covers of the headphones are too small.
  14. Very nice and clean build!
  15. Well, if the dust covers are not done right, they can affect the sound. In the early days, I made my dust covers as tight as the diaphragm, and those indeed affected the sound, especially the bass. On the newer headphones I make, I crumple the Mylar and only give it a light stretch to make the dust covers. And they don't make any difference in sound. I happen to own a pair of Martin Logan. I feel that the integration of their ESL and the subwoofer is not that great. I very much perfer my DIY Full range ESL.
  16. The charging time of 20-30 mins can be a real problem. With a good coating, the diaphragms should charge up instantaneously.
  17. Thank you Kevin and Birgir for your kind words. I'm so glad to hear.
  18. Those look more like DIY headphones to me.
  19. Happy birthday!
  20. Happy birthday!!!
  21. Hi Kevin, How do you connect a delay board to drive the high voltage switch in the current high voltage boards?
  22. Hi JoaMat, How does it sound compares to T2? Do they sound very similar?
