I put on another coat last night. When I was oiling, I used 1000 grit sand paper and wet sand them. I'll try to look for the blue colored Scotch scouring pad. When you're buffing the wood, do you put on some kinds of wax? Wachara C.

Hi! May I ask a few questions about oiling the wood? It's my first time to try linseed oil. I'm using it on my new headphone cups now. So far I've done around 3 coatings over 3 days. How do you know when you already have enough coating? I can't seem to find the 0000 steel wool around here, is it possible to use very fine sandpaper (1000) instead? Wachara C.

Wow!!! This guy is a genius.

The mod was done by a Thai head-fi member in Thailand. He took out the 507 drivers from their plastic enclosures and wrap them with some kinds of Carbon-Keflar tape. He used hot air from a hot air gun to soften the tape then wrapped the tape aroumd the drivers. Once cool, the tape became stiff and held the drivers in place pretty well. Wachara C.

I think it is possible to use some resistors and make a low pass filter for the second driver. The diaphragm on this one can also be much thicker so that the bass can be more aggressive. Wachara C.

I actually am listening to my stacked headphones right now. They sound pretty good. The increase in efficiency and dynamic is easily noticeable. When I played with my 3 stators 2 diaphragms headphones last time, I didn't like them at all. Perhaps I did something wrong last time. I think I'll try it one more time. Hi Tyll! The 4 mm spacing is easily achievable. But can the spacing be shorter? Mine will only be about 2.6 mm. Wachara C.

Hahaha! Seeing this thread makes me want to try stacking 2 pairs of electrostatic headphones together. Maybe I'll try.
