I don't fear vegans they should fear myself and my very very cruel headphones. Quite a few living beings were slaughtered to create my headphone nirvana. Uh.....I mean......yeah. R10's suck. They shouldn't be worth more than $500. I'll buy two, please.
-
GTFO, are you serious? I thought you were joking about that. That's too funny. I wonder who has the evil western culture R10's and L3000's?
-
Yes yes, the R10's are horrible horrible headphones. Keep spreading the word. The prices need to come down a lot so I can buy another pair, preferrably the bassier one. (even though I have serial #444 which seems to be the lighter bass one.)

Yeah, I've migrated to FlickR and Photobucket mostly. If the Head-Fi Photo Gallery database is fucked up again, I won't use it again.
-
Fuck. You guys are not making me look foward to getting a 9-5 job. I've been pretty happy with freelance work, but the hours are fucking insane.
-
Snow? What's snow? Haven't had to drive in that white shit in many years.

Unless it calls for baptism by Golden Shower by Reks.

The Photo Gallery Database better not be fucked up again. Wow, makes it feel like old times at Headwize...

It's like two R10's mating. The R10's are the only Sony headphones I'm a fan of. -Ed

As long as the eye glass cleaner is one that is safe for AR coating, you will be fine. Most eye glass cleaners nowadays are, though. You can also use camera lens cleaning solutions too. Honestly, good ole water and a microfiber cloth is what I use to clean my monitors. -Ed

Advice on an ultra portable laptop...
Edwood replied to KenW's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
My Fujitsu P1610 is my Ultraportable of choice. Just barely large enough to have a useable keyboard. I think you will have to loosen up your definition of Ultraportable, because anything with a semi decent CPU is going to be nearly twice your price goal. If file storage space is not an issue. Consider the Asus Eee PC. With an external USB drive or mulitple thumbsticks for extra storage. The Eee PC pretty much has the smallest cost to size ratio. -Ed -
Unfortunately the R10's cable is merely a rubber tube with loose wires inside it. And the yoke where the two sides meet is secured inside with, get this, only zip ties. You would think with how overboard Sony went with the materials they could've spent a few cents on epoxy or a better solution. Either way, take care when rolling up the R10's cables. Notice how when you twist them, they kind of resist a bit in certain directions? -Ed

The HE60 was the first high end cans I've listened to in a HiFi shop in Toronto. I bought the HD600's shortly after. Sennheiser is off my list for any future purchases since they've clearly abandoned the high end headphone market. They will lose lose lose at the mass market game in the long run. -Ed

Shure and Ultimate Ears fucked up their triple driver product launches as well. Looks like the triple driver fuck up is a Trilogy after all. But Westone is going to beat them is the suck pretty soon if they miss Xmas. The irony is that the 3 might not even beat out it's competitors despite being very very late to the party. Time will tell .......... and more time........................................and more................................. -Ed

I knew it. Bass tubes are Ear Rape Tubes. K1000 already has this covered. I use my K1000's for gaming all the time. I can even fit an over the ear headset under the earspeaker for XBox Live gaming. -Ed

Ask, no, demand Multifilament Nylon Techflex, not the craptastic standard PE Techflex. The only thing softer than the stock silk would be kevlar, but that stuff frays if you stare at it too long. Also, that bright yellow is not so fashion friendly. Mikhail has a good deal experience recabling R10's. In fact he says he can preserve the stock cable and reverse the operation at a later point if need be. -Ed

003 thinks he's got the exclusive on the PFR-V1 or something. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=267404 Elephas, you posted much better pics as well. -Ed

Other than IEM's those are the only headphones I've seen that literally look like they are going to rape your ears. -Ed

For comparison, here's her listening to some Senns. She's like Meh. -Ed

Doing well. Here's my daughter with my R10's. -Ed

Halo 3 is fucking amazing. Online co-op campaign with up to four people is the shit! Online multiplayer is of course much like Halo 2, but what else can you change? Solid matchmaking and net code (as much as there can be a for a p2p environment) that is pretty much the gold standard for console games. Every other multiplayer shooter I play reminds me how polished Bungie's engine is. -Ed

I have the older "less bass" version. I don't think I can give up even a little bit of soundstage and midrange. -Ed

If you use a hot pad (like those reptile heating pads from a pet store) or some kind of heating blanket that gets to around 100 degrees rest the ear cup leather pads down on it. The adhesive will get very soft and gooey, and they will come off quite easily. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer or heat gun if you are careful. Just don't rip them straight off, major PITA to clean up the adhesive and stuff left behind. Also this method doesn't destroy the old ear pads. BTW, scratchy, stiff techflex? What a great way to fucking ruin a perfectly good pair of headphones. -Ed

Alright, give me something to start with. You guys want something more graphic, cartoony? Funny? -Ed
