  1. I did a lot of research and ended up with a Britax Boulevard. My wife didn't want one of the detacheable ones like the Snugride (that was my first choice) because it was too awkward and heavy for her to carry around. We ended up either Baby Bjorn carrying our baby around or using a stroller (when she got a little older). The best part of the Britax Boulevard, is the continuously height adjustable straps. My daughter is now a little over 2 years old and we are still using the same car seat. I figured I'd spend extra on the best car seat that would last longer. One major downside is moving it from car to car, since it's so large and heavy, it's awkward, and when switched to foward facing, the LATCH system was a PITA to attach. There are clearance sales often for baby car seats, because some like Britax tend to have "expiration dates" , so they older models get phased out rather quickly. Odd fabric choices get heavily discounted too. Oh, and if you are on the move alot, I highly recommend checking out the McLaren Umbrella type strollers. There's one that is less than 8lbs in weight but really sturdy and very convenient to fold up and put away, or sling over your shoulder (like when taking stairs). Either way, when your baby is a old enough to hold his/her head up, you can take them to the store and try and see which one works best for you. -Ed
  2. Awesome, is that your patent?
  3. Not a whole lot. It's not really the most upscale neighborhood around the airport. But there's always the "bowling alley" next door to Carl's Jr. -Ed
  4. Well, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to spend the night over at the hotel on Friday, so I can be a designated driver if need be. My car is too small to take more than 3 people, though, so if you guys rent a van, I can drive it. But Saturday, I will not be qualified to operate heavy machinery of any kind (or post on Head-Fi.) -Ed
  5. Well, he has dibs on the bathtub.

    CanJam 2009

There's a Denny's down the street. LOL, VanJam is awesome. Take lots of pics of the trip, guys. -Ed
  7. Maybe we could hire a shuttle bus if we get enough people? -Ed

    CanJam 2009

Where's your layover? I've done the Cincy to LA vice versa flight many times. If I remember correctly the only real problem layover is Dallas Fortworth (DWF?), because if the next flight is too soon, you could miss the next flight since you need to take a monorail to the next area, then run to the terminal. -Ed

    CanJam 2009

Are you really coming to CanJam, Reks? Or are you going to out last minute? We gonna get shitfaced happy funtime for sure.
  10. update: I still hate iPhones, and Rex still doesn't care.
  11. Glad I could talk you into the front panel's big ass chamfers and rounded left/right edges. -Ed
  12. I thought I'd like the AE-2 better, but I can't seem to find where the USB port is.

    DEATH TANK!

Death Tank is out on the 360 Live Arcade. It ROCKS!!!! -Ed
  14. Watched it. Meh. Hopefully it gets better. But then Fox will kill it by putting it up against a #1 show.
  15. Keep at it, Luis. And uh, that's all I can really post in a diet thread here. Heheh.
  16. I have replacement ear pads already. Damn, I should've ordered a bunch of those Urethane rings. It's probably a common type of foam. Wish there was a place that still had some in stock. But fortunately urethane foam is quite common and cheap. We just need to find out the density of the foam used in the R10's and buy a bunch at the correct thickness. Cutting out little doughnut shapes would be very simple. -Ed
  17. Cancelling my HD800 preorders now.
  18. Uploaded an HD video to YouTube showing the HD800 in the Sennheiser Booth at CES. It's still processing so, here's a direct link in the meantime. Also will let you view in 720P HD as well. -Ed
  19. Spill the beans on name of the guy that fucked up your R10's, especially if he posts on Head-Case or Head-Fi. Don't want to ever deal with this guy in the future. Likely the foam just deteriorated with age. The black sticky stuff is the adhesive used for the ear pads. Any temps above 90 degrees F, will soften them enough that the ear pads will come off easily. In fact for replacing ear pads, the procedure is to use a hair drier or warm pad to warm them up for removeal. Either way, they leave a nasty sticky residue. But recabling someone's headphones without asking them? No excuse for that one. -Ed

    CanJam 2009

Plenty next door. This one isn't Photoshopped.
  21. We'll have to make up a pair of pink cozies / headband cover for Beeley if he gets the HD800's in time for CanJam. I hope what Sennheiser means is that it means to ship at least 200 units in the first batch, which means that Headroom gets the first 60 or so, then the rest get spread out to others like TTVJ, Moon Audio, etc. With Amazon being last. -Ed
  22. ROFL. This thread is more entertaining than the other bitch-fest. Hey, Tyll. What's up with Sennheiser. When I talked to Eric at the Sennheiser booth, he said something to the effect that the initial release will be very small, and "Headroom would be lucky to get even 20 units in the first batch". Did they manage to track down the ones they lost at Logan airport? -Ed
  23. Anyone reading this thread from NYC? Is that new calorie posting law effective at all these days in changing what and how much you eat when you eat out?
  24. For the DIY Table: Are you guys OK with everyone just messing around with and possibly just destroying a PIMETA board for amp building practice, or do you all want to build a working amp during the meet? I'll be on hand to a few soldering demos, but won't be assembling the entire amp. I figured everyone could get a chance to solder different kinds of components. I'll just have to find some cheap SOIC-8 OP amps, don't want to sacrifice an OPA627. Anyone have cheap or better yet dead SOIC-8 OP amps to donate for soldering practice? If we only have a few, I can keep desoldering them, and then letting people resolder them. As for making Interconnects, I can do a complete demo on the assembly of one. I think I might have a pair of Neutrik Pro-Fi RCA's lying around, otherwise I can make do with whatever anyone else brings in. -Ed
  25. Smyth Research is going to be a vendor attending. There is a good chance they will be bringing their full SVS rig. More info about the Smyth SVS system here: Smyth Virtual Surround Technology for Headphones - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio -Ed
