  1. I don't like the idea of destroying a pretty good amp that's fully functional for purposes which just dont happen to include my own. Digitalmind never had any hum issues with it on his gear and its only the AMT that causes me trouble. If it were broken, or faulty I'd have much less issue. I also like the idea that by the time I'm finished with the F5 (whenever that turns out to be) it'll be something that I put together entierly myself.
  2. A Sennheiser DSP, couple of cables and some F5 boards. My education into DIY audio doesn't begin in earnest until my dissertation is in though

    That world map is awesome.
  5. A number who made the top britons list also made the Channel 4 worst britons list. Tony Blair and Lady T being the obvious ones. Doing a skim of the 100 list, and thinking about who isnt on it too but whom I rate, I'd think these ten as a worthy list off the top of my head. 1)Charles Darwin (Biology) 2)Sir Isaac Newton (Physics/Astronomy) 3)William Shakespeare (literature) 4)Isambard Kingdom Brunel (Engineering) 5)James D. Watson (Genetics) 6)Alan Turing (Computers) 6)Oliver Cromwell (Politics) 7)James VI and I (Politics) 8)Margaret Thatcher (Politics) 9)Alexander Graham Bell (Telecommunications) 10)Sir Frank Whittle (Aviation) Fuck John Lennon, him being in the top 100 nevermind the top ten is a fucking joke.
  6. Churchill was a monster. First use of chemical weapons against a civillian population? Churchill against the Kurds. Set up the precident well for Mr Hussain about 100 years later. Fire-bombing of Dresden? Unsound both ethically, and in terms of the advancement of the war.
  7. In-fucking-deed.
  8. Is it really worth that much as an academic endevour? I'm weighting myself towards the fact that it's as much of a coffee table book as anything else.
  9. Nah, if I was born into another time, I wouldn't have been able to shoot the shit on the internet with your fine selves like this.
  10. Meh. In my opinion, the best strip cartoon there is, is Beau Peep, as seen in The Daily Star.
  11. You need to hear an O2 Smeggy old fruit. If you ever move back out of the colonies I'd be happy to lend you one
  12. I love my Wind. Well, the British rebrand. Be sure to upgrade the bios to enable the overclock. the +24% can make a huge difference to a lot of stuff.
  13. Absolutely astonishing, thats the first of countless dinosaur cartoons I've found more amusing than counting my legs. Also hurrah for Darwin. It continues to irk me that the loathsome British proles voted the monstrous Churchill our greatest ever Briton. Not nearly so awful as Diana making the top ten at all. But I digress. There has been a pleathora of wonderful radio stuff about Darwin over the last wee while. I have a fair number of them on podcast. If anyone not fortuitous enough to be able to subscribe to the BBC wants copies I could upload them somewhere.
  14. I want one of those, I'm just not going to pay

    Those'll be stretch marks then.
  16. Ah, I saw the + and - but the round shape had me convinced it was for a grippin' and a turnin'.
  17. Thats an F5 monoblock though right? Won't it be awkward having two volume dials? Unless thats the on/off switch.
  18. A kind offer thank you. I'll do some reading on things before I go jumping into anything though. I've had a look at some of the other Nelson Pass designs and so long as theres a sufficiency of information available to keep me right I suspect I could manage them. It's the PSU / Headsink/Case that looks hardest. The other factor is getting parts in the UK, I doubt Maplin carries Plitron transformers.
  19. Quick bit of looking on it and I probably could put one of those together. Not nearly as expensive as the 3 grand retail lead me to believe either.
  20. I'd be prepared to DIY, but it would have to be something completely idiot-proof with a step-by-step guide.
  21. No bugger excepting that vile, evil, murderous Belgian bastard wanted it when I tried to sell it last year but that worked out fine because a K1000 came into my life and the two of them got on just lovely. With my passion reinvigorated for the AMT though, it can't cut the mustard both ways. Theres the most irritating hum on the right channel. Only with the AMT and I'm buggered if I know why. It's also being pre-amped by the NAD which leads to one sort of complication or another for muting the speakers. The NAD doesn't hum but is too powerful, if I'm not careful with the volume dial I blow my ears off, thus it is that I don't really have an amp that is fit for the purposes I require. I'd be looking to sell the Aleph (or trade it) towards a second, low power integrated amp for K1000/AMT joy, but I'm buggered if I know what I should be looking at, there's all manner of shiny tube amps from Hong Kong on the Ebay but I'll be damned if I'm going near one of those stinking things ever again. I guess what I'd like is integrated, remote control not essential but nice, as little as one input, preferably solid state and preferably class A for the hawtness and because I only need a few watts, 10 is probably an ample sufficiency, but this isn't essencial. Oh yes, and I'd like to spend as little as possible over the value of the Aleph please. I've also got a nice speaker switch I wouldn't be needing any more which I could flog for a bit extra. The

That .gif does not even do a quarter of a pittance of a smidgen of 1 percent of any justice to the actual video. I can't think of anything I've seen on the internet since which has made me laugh so hard and it was ages ago now.

I fit his specifications as much as he deserves to have them filled.
