I'll bet the story after that little incident isn't nice.
  6. I shall be hope to bring a representitive sample of gin, scotch, beer and softs.
  7. Indeed.
  8. I've never been sick while drunk. Although I've been damn close a few times. Came very very close for the first time in a long time on Saturday night. I must have put away the better part of a litre of Sambuca on top of the Brew Dogs. Astonishingly, no hangover at all. Not even a headache or crusty eyes. If I'd had that much gin I'd have felt like an absolute fucking train wreck. I'm told I made awesome pizzas when we got back but don't even remember leaving.
  9. Naim Supernait is the only one I can think of, but it is not cheap.
  10. I was under the impression you didn't drink. The roundabout idea wouldn't work for most here though, they don't really exist in america
  11. You confuse meaning well with being well mean

    Top Gear

The series, finally, has gotten into the swing of it. I was worried that I might not laugh at all or actually be interested, and frankly it has been forced and contrived until now. E4 was breaking back, E5 is properly back to form. I loved it.

7-Up is better anyway. Girl clearly prefers the wrong sort of lemonade.

  16. I really quite liked having a shaved head when I did it for halloween last year, but the feeling after a days growth I absolutely hated. Took me a long careful time to do it but it was fun.
  17. Started a new book the other night. Field Marshal Sir William Slim - Defeat into Victory
  18. Two Anglepoise lamps. One cheap because the box was fucked. Turns out that the allan bolt heads are stripped too, so the whole thing just springs back to upright. I suspect that it was a return from a not-too-truthful buyer who overdid the cranking.
  19. Those Emotiva amps look serious business for the money. Yeah speaker first, true that. I just like to sook up the gear pr0n.
  20. That's my understanding from what I have read. It would be the expense of any replacement back panel, added onto the "minimum service charge" that would make things start to stack up.
  21. To drive the Soundlabs. For them 100watts is a recommended minimum, and from a 405, 115 is the best you can look to get. The 909 mono is 300watts (the 909 stereo is 140 per channel) and is unconditionally stable as Quad factor for their own electrostatics. It has the bonus of being quite reasonably priced and available used and catering to my dads decates long Quad bias.
  22. The monolith is a single element point source 1:1 air coupled zero point to audio transducer with the capacity to render mono, stereo, quad, 5.1 or binaural signal from any room position. Sadly, you need at least 1.81jiggawatts into an 8 ohm nominal capacitive load in order to avoid distortion caused by a lack of bridging capability over the zero point matrix.
  23. Won't be able to audition for about a week. Speakers are still at the sellers house and he's not in atm. Much reading seems to point that the Quad 405, even pimped out, won't cut the mustard as far as power is concerned. I wonder if Quad can turn a regular 909 into a 909 Mono if you send them back...
