  1. So. I find the actions of this woman to be utterly reprehensible on every relevent level. It is a long term sequence of utterly unconscionable actions. I hope she hangs and every drop that oozes from her go back into the reliquidation of the company she has fucked over. I also hope that (and this is hoping that Koss survives) the company does the best it can from this fuck up and tightens up its internal management to make this kind of filth impossible on any scale in future. If Koss falls it will be sad for the employees and sad for the hobby. Not a giant company, but within our habitat, certainly a player and a half. I very much hope this wont happen. But, for all of the joking about the concept, the notion of the financial support I find worthy. It is a large scale manifestation of the nominally smaller scale of the idea of cameraderie which pervades those involved in the community which is this hobby. On blergh, get your ESP950s now, before its too late.

Just don't ask where the cafe sourced the ingredients to make fresh biscuits for Brent after they ran out.
  3. I'm earmarking the albums mentioned in this thread for possible consumption after I've digested the ones I got for Christmas.
  4. My DAC oversamples, but I've no experience of NOS DACs at the same level. No idea how big a factor it is compared to say, output stages, power supplies or wood trims.

I fed toast to the VCR. Also magnets made the TV have pretty colours.
  7. HE60 from the SRM-717 is good music.
  8. The one time I should have had a cable detatchment with my O2, the SRM-717 moved forward. Those pins are TIGHT.

Cheaper than replacement ribbons is a $10 lock on the door to the listening room. I pushed my fingers into the tweeters on my dads Monitor Audio speakers when I was wee though, and that room had (still has) a lock.
  10. Hippitty Burpdai d00d!
  11. Hippitty Burpdai!
  12. Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2009 Remaster (ultimate edition) Ludovico Einaudi - Nightbook. Most of the new music I heard this year was from the 70s and 80s. *shrug*
  13. Happy 1997!
  14. urgh happy new year
  15. Theres also the difference that one is made by ALO. Which is, lets be honest. 10^6 times more important than .1v difference in the voltage swing.
  16. Hippitty Burpdai Mr Jacob Sir!
  17. The Wind Chimes.
  18. I've got 2 copies of the quad mix on vinyl. One is in the "Boxed" set. Saying I have no SACD player isn't really a defense. I don't have a laserdisc player or a cassette tape deck either.
  19. About: 450 CDs 225 LPS 25 vinyl singles 20 10" RTR tapes 10 cassette tapes 10 DVD-Audio zero SACD 1 Laserdisc 75+ Minidisc Plus perhaps 150-200 albums I have illegally downloaded but haven't yet deleted or bought the CD of. Of which Id guess half are rare, expensive or weren't released on CD. As well as maybe 3000 podcasts (919 as yet unlistened to). I should work out what proportion of all that is Mike Oldfield. It's 117 albums on my itunes and perhaps 1/5 of the vinyl.
  20. Ive had lots of haggis and black pudding (blood pudding). And a good share of various offel. Sweetbreads are nice. Ostrich, alligator, crocodile, kangaroo. Rabbit isn't bizzare whatsoever here, less bizzare in Scotland even than haggis. I'd like to try testicle, dog, cat, snake, whatever. So long as I don't have to eat insects. I have a sort of phobia for creepy crawlies.
  21. Steve Hoffman guy seems to have a Headroom Blockhead and HD600.
  22. Ironbut has some sweet RTR id like to hear.

It's once you put moving parts in a console that the risk of breaking rises. And it rises exponentially with each extra moving part. It began with the playstation. Where most that died, died because the cd mechanism failed. Accellerated with the dreamcast (which had a quite bad failure rate after a few years due to motor/laser assembly/hard drive failure). The 360 takes the cake though. My brothers one has been away 5 times since he got it for repairs.
  24. I also like the original HD414 a lot. Can we consider that? Or is that too DT-48?
