My sister had a similar toy and it counted backwards when you skipped the other way, or backwards if you skipped normally after putting it on upside down. I suspect that if mum and dad hadn't bought the cheapest one Woolworths had, it would have been sophisticated enough not to do so.
If you'd fouled up you could always do what all the ignorant ESL57 owners did and mend everything up with sellotape. Fudge it on to some noob on ebay and when they complain tell them that they ran the risk with a vintage product.
Was it indeed? I feel doubly honoured now. I doubt you could have done a better job with a set in hand because the fit is pretty damn perfect for the Jecklins, cure and all. The Ergos are taller so they rest on the foot rather than the stand but the Ergos are only on to keep the stand warm while the Jecklins are on loan
What was so complicated regarding the faceplate? I don't think I've ever seen a high res pic of it.
Did you work out some "optimal curve" for the Jecklin Float stand you made for me? I can remember rattling off a fair few sets of measurements, can't look back that far in my pms though on account of them being lost in the great head-fire of '07.
It's in my old system. My current mighty 5 year old XP2800+ still suffices for the games I play. (WC3, RA2, Q3 and Deus Ex basically). The Raptor hard drive made more difference than any CPU change though.
The O2 is really hitting it up for the blat hax wanted headphone of the month. Can't help you on the 717 price though.

(O2 and 717 sounds pretty damn good to me anyhoo)
