  2. it imports all your favorites/passwords/etc from firefox in about 20 seconds, so its worth playing around with.
  3. yeah the boothbabe pic wasn't working for me either. I actually downloaded chrome because I wanted to see if it wasn't just firefox.
  4. this is my first time using google chrome, its pretty neat. hey are last.fm signatures not working again or is it just me?
  5. i pretty much started this site. you can send cash to me in the mail.
  6. yup, i'm using the fixed outs.
  7. so when the CDP-2 has both the quadlink and RCA outs plugged in, the RCA outs are defeated. \ however, the sound has been OK. I'm going to run the quadlink for a little bit then go back to regular cables and see if I notice a difference.
  8. BTW, forgot to mentioned the Mastodon show was my first live music experience using earplugs. The etys performed wonderfully, and I felt great after the show while my GF and buddy had ringing ears. And the plugs didn't prevent me from rocking out at all, in fact after a few minutes with the plugs in the music felt incredibly loud; of course having the bass running through my body helped with that.
  9. Intronaut - Prehistoricisms Saw these guys open for Mastodon last night. Freaking awesome, I had to pickup the LP after the show in lieu of a (more expensive) tour shirt. They are a progressive metal outfit with death metal vocals and jazz tendencies. Cerebral, heavy as hell, and completely undanceable. I think a lot of you who enjoy metal would like this one.
  10. when my sister got married her and my bro-in-law danced to a Barry White tune. went over really well. its hard not to get in a groove with Barry White.
  11. Mastodon + Kylesa + Intronaut at the HOB NOLA. Great show. Mastodon played the entire new album in order for "set I", then the keyboardist left the stage and they went on to play the best and heaviest of their previous records, including Crystal Skull, Iron Tusk, The Wolf Is Loose, Seabeast (!!! the song I wanted to hear) and a massive Hearts Alive encore. They were obviously concentrating very hard on playing the new material well, and they did a superb job, with great visuals full of spacey wormholes and plenty of Rasputin. With the old stuff they really started smiling and cutting loose, and the crowd responded to both old and new with equal fervor. My GF, my friend and I got a primo place right behind the SBD, its my new favorite spot in the HOB. The openers were both awesome, which is always a treat. Kylesa is a chick fronted band, a real heavy dirty thrashy deathy thing with a touch of psycedelia. But the real treat was Intronaut, which was death metal type vocals over heavy and cererbral music that was absolutely impossible to dance to, very jazzy. I ended up buying their LP at the show and will listen to it later tonight.
  12. true. so what I can do is run the short quadlink from the CDP-2 to the 99 just for remote control purposes, and leave all else the same. sweet, I'm glad we had this talk. sloth, nice shots. which quads are those? look to new to be 63s. I'd like to hear some 63s some day.
  13. geez, you are probably right, as far as the CDP-2 and 99 go, as I can just keep AUX1 as the input. but i don't think you can select outputs, so the 909 would be received inputs from both the 99 rca and quadlink out, which i imagine would be a bad thing.
  14. thank you! they are much cheaper then the ones at bags unlimited.

  16. wow, those LP mailers look great. have you purchased them before? let me know how they work out.
  17. ah, right on. will do. problem is pretty much solved with the Y-splitters though. it would be nice to control my whole system with the one remote though.

thanks Dan, I love disney and love vinyl. first thing I've ordered from woot. my nieces will get a kick out of this.
  19. To be fair, there are two things that could have caused my negative impression of the quadlink: 1) I was indeed running regular interconnects from the CDP-2 to the 99, then Quadlink to the 909, as Duggeh notes above. 2) The 909 truly hadn't had the time to warm up. I noticed improvements day after day for as long as a week after I turned it on. So how about this: next week if I find the time, I'll run an all Quadlink setup and compare it to my all RCA setup. Duggeh, do you know anything about the guy in Italy who makes/made custom Quadlink cables? I've heard of him but never found a website or other contact info.
  20. anyday was the highlight of the new orleans show for me. derek was actually named after derek and the dominoes. nice, I need to check that out. I should be seeing Derek again this summer at Wanee in Live Oak, FL. he's playing the midnight set on Friday.
  21. stop it, you're giving me the jitters!
  22. i always think your avatar is a bowl of soup until i look closer.
  23. Sendspace has been my favorite so far. It has a nice program (Sendspace Wizard) that makes uploading easier. Still, 300MB limit and files don't last forever.
  24. i often find myself hoping they take some of the jitters out of the HP out jitter.
