thanks asr! might buy that pantera vinyl.
  4. Shipped! Should have it by Friday. That can mean only one thing: crystal meth, a stack of blu-ray pornos, and hour by hour burn-in updates for a full 7 days. get pumped head-case!!
  5. awesome pics, thanks for sharing. You know I've just now started saving the boxes I received vinyl in. I don't know why I never did before, I guess I thought I'd never sell any of my vinyl. Thanks you two, I'll just suck it up and buy the bags unlimited mailers.
  6. I'm looking to sell some of my vinyl. I've sold plenty of CDs online, but I've actually never shipped vinyl. Does anyone have an recommendations for boxes to ship vinyl in safely? My go to source for this kind of stuff is usually Bags Unlimited, so I'm looking at these: http://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-3129-album-mailer-folder.aspx Anyone have an other recommendations? Thanks!
  7. Korn - s/t Haven't listened to this album in several years, but I'm seeing them next weekend so I'm reliving my high school years today!
  8. yeah, installing the stock cooler was the hardest part about building my PC by far.
  9. holy cow, that was fast. well I'm sure they'll get some more in. I'll be happy to sell mine to headcasers for the low price of only $1500! surely the unit is worth many times that amount.
  10. If I already had a decent source I probably wouldn't have pulled the trigger. Having said that, the 95 really is the source I've been waiting for. Plays all the physical formats, including HDCD, and even plays hi-rez flac files! This way I can sell my squeezebox touch and just keep a thumb drive I load up on my PC with a couple albums I want to listen to that day. Also important, its right in my price range. Its the perfect mid-fi source for my needs, and I anticipate it being the last source type purchase I'll make for a very very long time. hell maybe ever, so long as it works. I don't see any new physical formats coming out anytime soon.
  11. order'd.
  12. OK, got the GT40 on my desk as we speak! Initial impressions are its not perfect but I am pleasantly surprised and am enjoying what I'm hearing. I'm using the GT40's headphone amp right now, haven't tried running it to the MiniMax yet. As it stands, the sound is surprisingly spacious on my HF-2, if a tad strident and without total clarity in the bass region. It handled the 24/96 file I threw at it without a hitch. Tonally its just really quite airy and pleasant and clear. So far so good. Looking forward to setting the 1200 up in here and giving the phono stage a whirl. I'd like to listen for a while longer before I give the unit a thumbs up or down.
  13. http://www.elusivedisc.com/prodinfo.asp?number=WEALP98725 I know, I know, its the 2009 mixes, but for $75 I thought it would be cool to have different mixes of these early records. I listened to side A of Foxtrot a couple nights ago, and it was a fun listening experience. Some new clarity to certain instruments and sounds, but I think the bass impact, particularly the intense bass moments (think Can Utility and the Coastliners!) is less intense. This sounds like a flaky sonic description, but it felt more like I was analyzing the recording then emotionally participating in it. Fun, yes, but I wasn't rocking out and feeling spiritually connected to the songs. I'll have to do more listening, but so far for a Genesis fan I think its a worthwhile purchase at its price, so long as you can accept remixes in general.
  14. i would absolutely go mac if this happened. i might anyway but i definitely would if this happens.

    Meet Neko!

Wait, do you have a Neko pet as well?! I didn't realize that. It actually took us about a week to come up with a name (she was Miley when we got her, but she was only that for about a week, so she adapted quickly to the name). We almost named her Pixie, but when Melody said Neko we knew that was it.
  18. Well I just placed an order for one. Its the kind of thing I've been wanting in my desktop system for years, but I didn't expect to pay so little for it. In general, the reviews I've read say: -The MM phono stage is exceptional for the price (very important to me) -The DAC is pretty darn good for the price -Hi-rez files sound good -Needledrops sound good And they don't say shit about the headphone amp because nobody knows anything about headphones. They just reach in their closet and blow the dust off their decade old pair of SR125 and plug it in and say "IT HAS GOOD TIMBER". I'll be sure to post impressions after I receive it.

    Meet Neko!

I've been meaning to introduce y'all to Neko for a while. We got her back in November. She is my/our first dog. She is a Chinese Crested/Terrier mix that was rescued from a kill shelter on her last day. She is 3 years old and weighs 10.5 pounds. House broken and crate trained, it is a mystery how a dog like this ends up in a shelter. She is the most "velcro" dog I have ever seen, constantly wanting to be around Melody and I. She loves everyone, and the more people in the room the merrier. She is definitely a party dog. Her grooming keeps her mostly hairless, but hair does grow, and she looks really funny when she gets fuzzy. We love this dog!

  21. http://www.needledoctor.com/Furutech-GT-40-Headphone-Amp-DAC Good review of this unit in the new issue of Tone Audio. This thing is a serious swiss army knife: -24/96 DAC over USB -Headphone amp -MM/MC Phono Stage! nice. -ADC! handles needledrops up to 24/96. All for $480. This is cool because I was just thinking it would be cool if more of these "all in one" type audio devices (benchmark, peachtree, etc) started incorporating phono stages. I could see this unit sitting on a desktop next to a Rega RP-1 or some other budget deck making a really awesome rig. The review in Tone Audio is worth a read, but in a nutshell they say any of the individual features (DAC, phono stage, ADC) would be worth the price of admission alone (they didn't comment too heavily on the headphone amp), so together its a real deal.
  22. me neither, but I've always been intrigued. plenty of talk about this DAC on the Hoffman forum. IIRC 909 loved his Saturn before he upgraded.

Robert Glasper - "Everything in it's Right Place" speaks for itself, pretty freaking outstanding if you ask me.
  24. for any behringer monitor, my far been really wanting use and look! you're guess!
  25. Excellent web browsing capabilities is the only "must have" functionality I require on my phone, everything else I'm pretty open minded about. The catch is I'm currently with AT&T (grandfathered unlimited plan), and while I'm up for an upgrade in May, my contract isn't up until next January I think. So either way I've got plenty of time to mull over my options. The Motorola Atrix, which just got mentioned in this thread, has definitely caught my eye, especially since its an AT&T phone.
