this is what i used for my 13" MBP + iPad: http://www.amazon.com/STM-Small-Alley-Screens-Carbon/dp/B00009MF83/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1314409593&sr=8-3 fits my MBP well. its not snug at all though so it might be a bit wide for the air, but i think it would be fine.

jealous. wanted to catch the atlanta Opeth/Katatonia show but its just not going to work out. My GF was just saying last weekend that Opeth in New Orleans is one of her top five concerts ever. what a show! and what a great crowd taboot. I didn't buy, but I feel like I have a new toy: my naamanf built, and then Fitz repaired (really modded) Beta22! This is the one with the purple heart front panel I bought from shelly a while back. Though I still love my Millett MiniMax, and it will continue to pull duty in the den rig, I am tickled to have the Beta22 back. such an amazing piece. big ups to Fitz for putting lots of hours into repairing this beautiful amp! and he only charged me the usual headcase rate. things I did just buy: tickets to see the String Cheese Incident in Atlanta 11/26.

its getting better, i think. Death Magnetic, and the criticism it drew over its mastering, was kind of the peak of the whole loudness wars. i've been pleased with the sound on a lot of new records. the new pains of being pure at heart is loud but not brick walled loud. the new mmj sounds great, but all their stuff does. a lot of new indie stuff dig on the analog sound, so it might be kind of lo fi, but too me lo fi sounds a hell of a lot better then brick walled. in terms of remasters that are truly "better", I'd offer up Wilson's 40th anniversary KC remixes/remasters. To my ears they are all absolutely superb. I'd go so far as to call ITCOTKC a revelation. the deluxe edition of the ITCOTKC remaster sets the bar for all rereleases IMO.

its a huge win so far. been having green smoothies in the morning. typically kale and a banana with whatever fruit we have lying around. really delicious, loaded with lots of good stuff.

Vitamix 5200 To help me consume more raw fruits and vegetables. A quick test run tonight included peacharines, banana, and blueberries. A really delicious, sweet, and satisfying smoothie. Tomorrow morning we're trying our first kale based green smoothie. I'm excited.

Holy Crap! The New Stax Omega Looks fierce! (Stax SR-009)
postjack replied to Jon L's topic in Headphones
It's simple, the wooden grado is best for organic instruments made of wood like guitars. They don't measure as well as other headphones because it is impossible to measure a guitar actually with conventional man instruments. The sr009 is made of silver (bright sound as previously said) so it is good only for video game music, EDM, and harps. -
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light (2x45) if you like live rock and roll these guys are SLAYING live right now. hangout fest was amazing. of course they were also slaying when i saw them open for RHCP in 1997.

Holy Crap! The New Stax Omega Looks fierce! (Stax SR-009)
postjack replied to Jon L's topic in Headphones
could just mean the sr-009 does better for lower volume listening. of course i've used the PS1000 for quite a while so its obvious lower level listening and brightness don't trouble me like it used to. having said that i can't seem to scrounge up $5,000 for these cans anyway. really stoked to hear more impressions roll in from HCers though. also best first post ever from Gu. still expected someone to tell you to STFU and take it to head-fi though. -

I wore birkenstocks for years, but finally ditched them for a pair of Chacos, since all my live music buddies swear by them. They got the ultimate test (for my purposes) at Phish's Superball IX festival last month in Watkins Glen, NY. they tore my feet up a little, as all sandals do, but in no time I got used to them. I love them and want to wear them everywhere now. Super comfortable, super rugged, and the first sandal that doesn't make my big toe hurt. Definitely a new favorite thing. I am intrigued by the sippy cups in this thread. will check out.

I don't think there exists a video card capable of driving a 27" retina display, much less the mobile GPUs they use in the iMac. Gosh darn PC gaming and the lack of $2500 keeping me away from a Mac desktop.

It's only been an evening but man I love this thing! It's the only way I want to browse the internet. The 1 seems plenty fast for my purposes.

Not quite as exciting as all the iPad 2 news, but I just ordered a refurb 16gig Wi-Fi iPad 1. $383.90 shipped. After a lot of reading I determined it was the best value for my purposes, mainly web browsing around the house and the occasional game of Angry Birds.
