Well true its the same basically but pretty much different, but I mean you have a large concentration of people gathered together in one area for the purpose of trade, an airport etc.

So I've always understood the term PRaT to somehow be associated with punchiness and speed; I've always thought "fast" when somebody says PRaT. But when I'm listening to the HP2, it almost feels like it is one small step slower rhythm wise then its younger wooden cousin the RS-1, and this slight step back in pace results in perfect timing with the music. Its an uncanny and strangely exhilarating effect. Its like I'm watching a tightrope walker who I am sure is just about to fall off, but they never do. My heart is in my chest as I'm listening to the drums just move along with a crazy sense of purpose, and I always feel like the beat is about to miss itself, but it never does! Its just exactly in its right place at the exact time it is supposed to be. And to these ears, that is part of what contributes to the engaging and exciting listening experience of the HP-2. So is this PRaT?

As has been already said, they will always use your name, they will never ask you to confirm information, and usually some kind of threat is implicit (we'll shut down your account). pretty standard scam. wow aerius, you have never used amazon? they get a huge chunk of my paycheck. i do 98% of my CD purchases from them, and lots of other random things too. Hell I did 100% of my christmas shopping at amazon for the past two years.

I know we're joking around, but I want to make it clear that I did NOT speak to John Grado in any way, and it certainly didn't quote an eightball and mjg song to me. That was a lie. Maybe Biggie got his repaired because it is a relatively rare PS-1, not one of many RS-1s. Plus I've heard of specific problems with recabling wood Grados, since the cup is one piece and the adhesive is so strong (the reason I emailed drew with this question is because Larry at headphile refuses to recable RS-1s because of this difficulty)

According to Fedex, the cart gets here tomorrow! Hopefully I don't fuck it up while trying to align it.

I just ordered some of the new production Ei's from The Tube Store, at least as a temporary stop gap until I can explore more exotic options. Thanks for the eBay tip, I'll probably steer clear of there for these purchases.

Don't notice it at all when music is playing, but when I plug in the cans I can hear it, and after the cans are plugged in, I can tap the volume knob and hear it. No worries though, gave me an excuse to crack open the SHA and see what was going on inside. First, off topic, this amp is dusty as hell, boy. What is a safe way to get rid of this dust? Just some standard compressed air (pc duster)? But on topic, the tubes that were in there were some JAN Phillips 6922s, which sounded fine, but of course I'd like to experiment. New production tubes I'm considering are the Ei Elite 6dj8/6922 (I can find NOTHING on this tube, but folks rave about the 12ax7 Ei Gold Pin, which I have in my phono preamp), and the JJ Tesla 6922, which are cheap as hell and get decent reviews in the old Melos tube rolling thread at HF. NOS considerations are some bugle boys or amperex 6922 pqs, the US versions.
