I have a fairly serious book buying compulsion, which in the past couple of years unfortunately extended into the area of limited edition, small press science fiction and fantasy publications. My favorite small press is Night Shade Books: http://www.nightshadebooks.com/ About twice a year they have a 50% sale, and when that happens I just go nuts and order a ton of books. However, due to my reading preferences (alt-fantasy/sci-fi) I usually can only find books I'm interested in on the 'net, so I don't make many purchases at b&n or bam. Amazon though... whew they have a lot of my money.

The amp looks beautiful, congrats! You have a wonderful looking rig. On an unrelated note, how is it using an easy chair like that at your computer? I want something more comfortable for listening, and my rig is by my computer as well.

I'm still pretty torn to be honest with you. One minute I think I love them, the next minute I'm thinking of selling them. But usually when I start waffling like this, I end up selling and not regretting. The arrival of the W11JPN has clarified matters a bit. It is on the whole less fatiguing and much more pleasant to listen to then the W5000, but is nowhere near as resolving. The W11JPN sounds like a very very good headphone, and the W5000 sounds like a flawed audiophile grade headphone. I put on the W5000, and am instantly excited by its sound signature, but by the end of an album I'm already fatigued and don't want to keep listening. On the other hand, I put on the W11JPN and am not immediately impressed with the sound, but after a few songs I am completely seduced and loving it, and I want to listen to music on it all night long. I just wish there was a phone with the general sound signature of the W11JPN, but with better resolution, detail retrieval, and bass impact. And of course by all that I've read, this is the L3000. But at the current market prices... yikes!

two episodes and you will be totally fucking hooked, and cussing like a sailor. Al Swearagen is such a fantastic character, he could carry the whole show on his back. But luckily every single character, down to the extras with one or two lines, are just dripping with personality and presence.

I've consistently bought them since I got into the hobby. Sometimes I do wish for something a little less heavy and bulky. Anywho, I told myself early on not to explore more exotic cables until I'm more settled into my system. Blue Jeans also ships extremely fast, which is a plus when I need new ICs quick.

The past few weeks my limited TV watching time has been entirely consumed by either Hardball (only show I watch during the week) and DEADWOOD (only show I've watched the past few weekends). I've been Netflixing the Deadwood DVDs, and this has got to be one of the greatest shows ever. It is definitely the most brutally violent show I've ever seen. Fucking bad ass all hell. It has me cussing a LOT too. I just started season two. I have to work until noon today, but after that I might say fuck mowin the lawn, and kick back with a bag of kettle corn and a stack of deadwood dvds.
