Hey- So I want to enter the world of speakers, and the Quad 22Ls that tkam has for sale have caught my eye. Of course they are visually very attractive, and all the reviews I've read say they are a good neutral speaker at their pricepoint, and even a better deal used. Basically I would just want a speaker that is decent across all genres, and doesn't really try to do anything except portray what is on the recording pretty well. My initial application would be in a small quasi-office room where my headphone rig is. I forget the room's exact measurements, but I sit 8 feet from the wall, and so would be 5-6 feet from the speakers. Far from ideal, yes, but eventually I'm looking at converting a room in my house that gets very little use into a dedicated listening room, so then I could setup the speakers anyway I wanted. I'd want to power them with something <$1000, maybe an integrated like the Rega Mira3 or something by Jolida. "Budget" is the word. Any feedback is appreciated. As an aside, I haven't laid claim to the 22Ls, they are still very much for sale if someone else is still interested. You won't break my heart at all if you snatch them up.

well, I guess compared to the super happy HF tongue smiley, he looks kind of sad. But taken on its own, your right, its not a sad smiley, just kind of plain. Maybe vacant smiley? Dumb, hollow smiley?

Elephas, I also had trouble with the smilies here when I first started posting. To me, they all looked the same, and I had a hard time telling their moods apart (aside from the devil, the afro, mikey01, and the dancing man). But to be honest with you, these days they are some of my favorite smilies on the internet. You'll get used to them.

I've still got season 3 to go though! my favorite chars probably of the whole series, aside from al, who is a given, are dan dority and the doc. currently still watching DS9, season 3, though I did just get in the season 4 box from amazon. And I see Worf on the box! Finally! I was wondering what season he showed up. I need more Worf.

K340 I know I paid slightly over $200 for these, but they can be had for less, and these are remarkable headphones, at least when powered by the Dynahi! Very alive, and rich, and musical. This can has made me very interested in the higher echelon of electrostats.

Chekhonte, the article said that the percentage of vinyl sales went up while the percentage of CD sales continues to go down, which means that there were still many more CDs sold then vinyl. Still, it shows the vinyl market is growing. As for hi-rez, DVD-A is dead, and SACD is dead outside of classical. I predict Best Buy will stop carrying CDs almost altogether in 3-5 years. Already now you can only find new releases and greatest hits albums.

yup, my first time. A post on SH led me to the Deceiver box set, and browsing the store led me to the other stuff. also just ordered the two Genesis Archives box sets, the few albums I don't own yet on CD (Nursery Cryme, We Can't Dance, Trespass), and some more Phil Collins.
