  1. :'( maybe I will!! and then I'll buy a B52 and run back to head-fi WHERE I AM FUCKING APPRECIATED!!!!!! :'(
  2. if you've got the MFSL of Bob Marley's "Exodus", throw some flats on that MS2i and standard jammin'. These cans were made for reggae.
  3. You mean getting Quads at half the MSRP is the FOTM. Nice impressions, I'm glad you enjoy them! If my impressions are like your I'll be a happy camper. Like I was saying in the other thread, I just want my first set of "audiophile" speakers to be unoffensive, meaning I don't want them to do anything glaringly wrong. also, pix with cardboard box please.
  4. To Jacob: yes, I do like them quite a bit! I'm not so far removed from the HP-2 that I can't do somewhat of a comparison. Keep in mind these are based on just a couple hours of listening, but the MS2i is NOT the poor man's HP-2. The HP-2 really is in a class all by itself, and the MS2i does not share a similar signature. What the MS2i has going for it is amazing bass and great mids. On a couple tracks its lost control of the highs, but this control loss is nowhere near as shrill as the 325i (if my memory serves me, its been a while). I listened with bowls for a bit, and it sounded fantastic, but bowls bug me so I quickly switched to flats. The sound is not congested, but the soundstage is teeny tiny, as I've found is standard with SR series Grados. best part is still the bass. Strangely, their bass reminds me of the GS1K's bass, but nowhere near as superb. I sometimes find myself yearning for that visceral GS1K bass.
  5. As to this, if I could respond with a picture of a shirt: the human brain is capable of amazing transformation. the cards one has been dealt do not necessarily a person make.
  6. reks, do you need a two week time out? I've been locking threads, I'll give you a time out if need be! I have the powah!
  7. Just got in the MS2i today. Its a great looking phone. Happy Family! W5000 not pictured, is asleep in flight case
  8. geez, i've been so foolish. I need to get a bluray player to play my vinyl, sorry for attacking you there. :'( btw I will be getting up with you in the next few months for a balanced cable.
  9. where do you put the record in this setup?
  10. x2 on the other topic, addiction can be anything that makes one's life unmanageable.
  11. i thought you were going all vinyl!! now i can't buy a balanced senn cable from you. > digital denier!
  12. h8
  13. i got on a power trip earlier and locked it for no reason.
  14. too late! I already bought a mediorcre integrated. link
  15. I'm always bouncing back and forth between the same two hobbies, but I know you are more of a vintage collector, while I prefer moderns. I do have a Danitrio Raw Ebonite Mikado Eye Dropper with a stub nib I'm probably going to sell. The pen is HUGE, and the nib is HUGE. This pen eats the MB149 for breakfast. Its nib and filling mechanism make it completely impractical for everyday use, so I'm not sure why I bought it. The ebonite does smell amazing though. Funny, I just realized I usually shy away from "vintage" audio gear as well.
  16. Two weeks ago I would have been all over it, but I went for speakers instead. Keep in mind that with the new O2MKII on the horizon, cheap O2's might start popping up all over the place. Hirsch probably made a smart move selling them now as opposed to waiting a few months. Either way, one heck of a deal.
  17. Just placed an order for the demo 840a in black they had on the AA site. Looks like a fine unit, we'll see how it works out.
  18. you decided to start using arabian opium?
  19. I'm leaning towards the Cambridge, either 740a or 840a. The 840a has received lots of positive press. It also has XLR inputs.
  20. Earl, the Monarchy SM-70 Pro looks like a great amp, but it isn't an integrated, and since I won't have a preamp for another few months, I'm limiting my current choices to integrated units only. Both the Vincent and the Cambridge look nice, and I like Audio Advisor. I bought my record cleaning machine from them.
  21. onkyo is out. i am suspicious of its digital technology, I want the digital part to end when it leaves my CDP/DAC. keep it analog from there on out. plus there have been a few reports of issues of random sound cutouts.
  22. my bad dude, didn't mean to geek it up. :'( but i'm just so smart with this audio thang sometimes my shit just oozes, know what I mean?
  23. yea it should have given off more watts if it was that hot, thats just like basic algebra. sin/cos = heat/x, where x=watts and watts=power, power + heat = pure rock NRG.
  24. hot = more power so this is a given. i could incorporate a hot plate for delicious scrambled eggs while listening to Brahms on my Quads.
