How has your rig changed in 2007? And do you have any future plans?

this is what i want to do, but I want a KGSS instead of the SR-007tii. I'm awaiting justin's impressions of the 007mk2. -
While we wait for Volty to post pics, anyone have any comments on this: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f10/fs-stax-system-1300-shipped-us-278915/ The Stax wiki tells me the SRM-007t is OOP, but it has normal and pro bias outs which is cool. Not sure if this is a good price on the amp + Lambda Pros or not.

Forgot the obvious addition of a Rockhopper Audio Balanced Beta22 in early '08. -
I saw a thread similar to this over at Steve Hoffman forums, thought it might be fun revisit the changes our rigs went through this past calendar year, and talk about our goals for 2008. Around January of '07, I was running a Singlepower PPX3 Slam. I thought tubes were the answer to all my problems. My source was a Sony Modwright 999es, and I thought SACD was the king of all music mediums. My preferred can was the HD650. In spring I discovered two things that changed my rig forever: vinyl and the RS-1. I was not really impressed with the SR60, SR225, or SR325i, all of which I had owned, but I sensed something cool was there, so I picked up a used RS-1. I've tried lots of cans since then, but none have been able to touch the overall listening satisfaction I get from my RS-1. The HP2, while possibly technically a better can, failed in the areas of comfort and price to performance ratio. After I replaced the abysmally dull Stanton Groovemaster cartridge, vinyl rather quickly became my new favorite medium, due to its inherent naturalness, liquidity, and bass fullness. Amplification wise there was a Melos somewhere in there, which quite quickly made its way to a ship in the Pacific. A Dynahi arrived and stoled mah heart with its SS goodness. Bye bye pain in the ass tubes (yes yes I know, says the vinyl guy). There were a couple of AT cans and a love-hate relationship with an Ultrasone. Last but certainly not least in the can realm was my first taste of electrostats in the form of an SR-Lambda. Mmmmmm... Beyond cans the joy of speakers entered my life with the 840A and 22Ls. When I bought the 840C, the Modwright flew the coop and took with it my hi-rez dreams. Finally source wise I entered into mortal kombat with a Grado Sonata and PH-1. Finally I think I got that one settled down. As far as the future goes, I'm pretty much still dizzy from all the gear I experienced this past year. Possible ideas are a new turntable (maybe a sota or one of those fancy pro-jects with the carbon fiber tonearm) or an SR-007 rig.

grats on the baby stax! no audio goodies for me this Christmas, I pretty much make it clear to my loved ones that I do all my audio/music/fountain pen shopping on my own. Else I'll end up with Bose and Montblancs. I did get a Virtuoso coffee grinder though. Unfortunately the only beans I had on hand yesterday were flavored, and I am not doing flavored beans in this thing. Need to run by the coffeeshop today and get some fresh roast Mexican Organic.

What do you think the best headphones for the Christmas Holiday season are? I'd say the GS1000.

anyone ever put RS-1 drivers in custom enclosures?

deepak, I just came into an amazing opportunity for an offshore investment, something to do with rare seashells found only in the Gulf of Mexico. What happens is we need two investors each to pitch in ~$350, and in two weeks a government subsidized fund kicks in and triples the investment. Easy money man, easy money! Basically what would work is if you just send me your HF-1, I have a friend locally who is willing to buy it for $400, so you get your $350 tripled + an extra $50. Let me know man!!!! -

Yes, this is the case. I have received an inordinate amount of unsolicited offers for my Veda Audio Dynahi.

This is a great point Ryan. I had forgotten about this story, thanks for the reminder. To Ian (or whomever): Is it difficult to pry the drivers lose from the 325i shell? Basically what I'm getting at with this thread is, come hell or high water, I will have Grado drivers inside a deep ebony enclosure recabled to xlrs. Just trying to decide which Grado drivers to go with. -
Nothing in there about 24K gold case though.
