  1. To give less of a vague answer, yes I do. I won't for long though. After I've done my comparison I'm sure the two losers will be sold. The scary thing is how good the HF-1 is. I can't believe this can retailed for $199. Blows the SR225 out of the headphone sea.
  2. do you own three pairs of RS-1's?
  3. great thread.
  4. This is good news, thank you for sharing.
  5. Come Thursday, I'll be able to offer a comparison between a buttonless pair and a previous generation serial #3279. Once I get my darker wood, serial numberless pair back, I'll be able to compare that one as well. There is a lot of murmuring that the new buttonless pair more resembles an older rs-1 or an ms-pro sonically, but nobody has said this who I can really trust. But I know I can trust me. The #3279 is recabled with apuresound V3, so the comparison won't be totally pure.
  6. the W5000 is a cool headphone. it does lack bass though, which is why I eventually gave up on it. but the best imaging and soundstage I've heard in a closed can. hell, better then most open cans. but pj has to have some body in his music, and that means bass.
  7. foobar is actually super easy for file conversions. Its free and fast. I use winamp to play my music, but I use foobar to do all my ape -> wav & flac -> mp3 conversions. I do use dbPoweramp for my flac -> wav conversions (when compiling a cue sheet to burn in EAC), its integration in the right click menu in windows explorer is very convenient.
  8. tons, but this always springs to mind. Phish 03/01/2003 Greensboro, NC encore: first tube > yem > proud mary (acapella, last performed 12/2/83, not performed in last 1133 shows)

That is unfortunate. I'm a huge Matthews/Russert/Brokaw fan, and they're all on MSNBC. As far as improvements over Dubya, pretty much any of them would be, except for Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, and Edwards. (I threw in a democrat to be fair and balanced, like fox news )

  11. my interests include bagels with cream cheese, buying/washing/collecting my vinyl LP records, SFF books, and sitting.
  12. If you are interested in checking out an older band that has a similar sound, you might be interested in Soft Machine. Their album "3" is a mess of a recording.
  13. I look at the "what are you listening to..." thread as more like a chatroom. If I step away from it for a while I'm bound to miss out on several pages of headcase antics and tomfoolery.
  14. Yup, its a sweet ass album. Great lyrics, great flow, bizarre as hell, and very nine inch nail-y. $5 is the exact threshold at which I am willing to spend money for a lossless download. Which of course means $10 for MP3 is out of the question.
  15. Also I just got in my tickets to see Wilco in March. 12th row center, 4 seats. And my other buddy got four seats in the row 11, right in front of me. Should be fun.
  16. yup, I can't wait! he's my favorite saint.
  17. yeah you should, I forgot about your SR-325! you got that woody done fast. I'll probably eventually get my HF-1 woodied, but for the time being I'm enjoying them quite well in stock form. Plus they are the only dynamic phone I own that is still single ended, and its a bit of a pain to plug every other phone into the damn balanced to single ended adapter everytime I switch cans.
  18. I just shelled out the big bucks to Todd for a new pair of flats for the HF-1. Of course I prefer them to the bowls.
  19. (emphasis mine) did you not sell the HF-1 deepak? or are you talking about other grados I'm unaware of? edit: on second thought how dare you own any gear at all i am not aware of. you and your shady signature...

Huckabee scares me the most, since he is the Jesus candidate. And I have no problem at all with Christianity. I don't consider myself a Christian, but it doesn't stop me from reading the Bible and texts by Christian scholars (in addition to a variety of other religious and spiritual texts). But running on the Jesus platform always stinks to me of the dirtiest, dirtiest politics. Filthy like the exposed titties on the Lady of Justice statue. Filthy, filthy titties! Cover them, cloth the filthy titties!! Fred Thompson is just another wishy-washy "lets legislate morality and stop der gays" candidate. So he is scary as well, but he also has run the most pathetic campaign of the past few decades. I can't quite put my finger on Rudy. His "wait till the big states" strategy has never worked in the history of the presidency, so it makes me wonder if he is just being lazy. He seems likable enough, and fiscal conservativism paired with no social agenda (meaning he doesn't legislate morality) is attractive to me. Mitt Romney has been a lifelong hunter. I can't say I like or dislike Hilary Clinton, but I strongly dislike the type of politics she represents, meaning the answers no questions, says nothing firm, sticks with the FOTM. She's like a formless entity who believes in nothing but winning. I have a strong respect for McCain. I love his honesty even though I disagree with him on a number of issues. I love that he doesn't bow to his party. All in all he is probably the most likable candidate for me. Obama makes me feel good. I like that he says "you can" instead of "i can". Of course everybody keeps bringing up the whole JFK resemblance, but they keep bringing it up because its true. I love that he can speak. I think that rhetoric is a crucial talent in any politician. okay i'm at work and i'm tired and stressed and not making much sense, but the above is pretty much my rundown of the candidates. at this juncture, i like obama (d) and mccain ®.
  21. I'm a bit of a head-case fanboy. I do have a lot of Grado crap but I wouldn't call myself a Grado fanboy. Maybe time will change that.
  22. This douche has made his point, so in order to avoid going from douche to asshat, I'm stepping away from this thread.
  23. True, but RAM, as a company, is so sketchy. I feel this way about any company that offers complete cryo immersion mods.
