  1. my black triangle "invisible touch" is magical.
  2. Sounds good Peter, thanks for sharing! My concern isn't so much the nearness (I would expect monitors to work well nearfield) as their placement on the desk. Quad 12Ls are something I've considered, since I like the sound signature of my 22Ls so much, so I'm glad to hear of your positive experience with them in the exact same situation I'd like to hear them.
  3. Welcome to headcase, EdipisReks!
  4. Welcome to head-case Comfy!
  5. you have a metal button!
  6. Ah okay. I've already got my 22Ls about 6 ft behind me. thanks for your response.
  7. Hey OJ, how do you have your A7s setup? I've been hoping to find some monitors I could just set on either side of my computer monitor for easy near field listening. I don't even know if it is sonically possible to achieve good sound with this type of positioning.
  8. so far its ok.
  9. THAT DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE THE DIME IS METAL AND YOUR FINGER IS SKIN AND THE RS-1 BUTTON IS WOODEN
  10. Very cool. I'm looking forward to doing some liquidation in the near future and putting it towards more music. Looks like y'all had a great time, thanks for the impressions! I'd also be interested in a Headamp Desktop DAC/Amp. Maybe an electrostatic one that comes with a free OII.
  11. Dude, not all of us have your DIY skills.
  12. South Park, from the AARP episode: President of AARP: EH?!?
  13. So I was proudly telling my hardcore Ryan Adams fan friend about these cool soundboards I found on the internet. He then pointed me here: http://www.ryanadamsarchive.com/torrents.php apparently Ryan Adams lets random fan tapers put mics on the stage and record through his soundboard because he is a BADASS. there are more soundboards on there then I know what to do with, but I'm grabbing as many as I can.
  14. Finally installed the "new" foobar, and basically it answered all my problems. It gave me a simple, paneled interface with no fancy graphics that I setup to use with ASIO in about 2 minutes. Wonderfully done! Actually glad to be rid of Winamp, which while easy to use, always takes to long to startup and has a bunch of bloatfeatures I'll never use.
  15. I owned a DT990 '05 edition early in my headphone career, and remember enjoying them. I still sold them though. I would like to hear them again someday to see how they hold up now that I have more experience.
  16. LOL Welcome to headcase Mortalcoil! I am the only one around here who enjoys the GS1K. Mine is recabled with BD, and I like it best with vinyl out of the Dynahi after it has been powered up for at least 2-3 hours. They are still bright at this point, but not sibilant, and the midrange is still dry but not recessed. The bass, of course, is amazing. I certainly don't think they stomp every other headphone out there (I listen to my SR-Lambda just as much, which runs at about an eighth the price of a GS1K ), but it has an addictive tonality and timbre that keeps me coming back.
  17. sending you a PM.
  18. It must have been, since I can't allow you to disagree with my findings.
  19. I think its a good match with the 1200's tonearm, since it dulls the treble a bit. At this point, the midrange, while great, isn't as sweet as the Sonata, but the bass is certainly better, which is where I think I'm getting my "musicality" from. The soundstage is also bigger in all directions. Please do keep us posted on your findings with the P-75, especially in the Phono Enhancer mode with LO carts.
  20. Denon DL-103 MC Cartridge Wow, I can see why this cart is so highly recommended. Its musical as hell, makes me feel all fluttery in my chest. Yay for super old designs still kicking ass and sounding amazing!
  21. yay tkam!
  22. mobile, AL
  23. Well it looks like I won imaginary head-caser of the year. This is weird because I'm pretty sure I'm real... or am I? [me=postjack]wants to take you down cause he's going to... postjack fields... [/me]
