  1. Happy Birthday David!
  2. Maybe for your slender Vince Vaughn cranium. No AKG love for a big headed fool like myself.
  3. the new foobar is kickass as all hell. I hadn't realized how bad the Winamp gap inbetween tracks was bothering me until I switched back to beautiful foobar gapless. So much easier to get immersed in a live show recording. Also I love being able to select the folder view. I have so much music that I haven't organized into proper folders, and this makes it easier to just find that music and listen to it.
  4. And Collins does a pretty good Gabriel impression on this album as well.
  5. yay, now no one will ever know where i got the lyrics from.
  6. Just start an IC and say that you "may have an offer as high as $750", but you are still accepting bids.
  7. If I can only recommend one Collins-era album, its the double live album Seconds Out. As far as studio albums are concerned, A Trick Of The Tail is probably my favorite (the Atco Japan Diament master is marvelous), but I also love love LOVE Abacab, but at that point the band is more pop then prog. If you want to check out the Gabriel-era stuff, Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and Selling England By The Pound are the two go to albums.
  8. whoops, forgot to change to jb sauce & cheese at the end.

  10. No snow in the Deep South, but plenty of cold days with icy rain, which are my favorite kind of days. I was spinning Ryan Adams' 29 last night while it stormed cold cold rain just outside the window. It was great.

    Quad 11L2

So I ended up springing for these. For about the cost of an RS-1 it seems like a good deal to me, and I'll end up having to sell one of my RS-1s to reimburse myself. Now I just need to decide how I'm going to integrate them into my system. Best bet is probably to run them from the preamp outs on the 840A.
  12. my man! can't wait for impressions.

    Quad 11L2

Hey Speaker Kids: Don't I remember reading that the *L2 series of Quad speakers got worse reviews then their previous L series? Reason I ask is there are these demos for sale on Audiogon: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrmoni&1206234899 I could put this on my desk next to my monitor, and power them off the other speaker outs on my 840A. But if my memory serves me, I'd be better off waiting for a regular 11L (or 12L if I want to go active).
  17. and now this pictures graces jack's myspace page. thankee sai!
  18. This one looks great. I'll send the seller an email later. Thanks!
  19. The man turns 55 today!
  20. Hoping to find a digital stylus force gauge accurate to 0.01. Really don't want to pay more then $100. Needs to last forever and ever. Any suggestions?
  21. Oh I love me some Hoffman, but the Beatles and Floyd MFSLs are just about audio nirvana for me.
  22. I should add that actually my favorite mastering are typically MFSLs. The above meant I prefer WG discs above most other early pressing european/japanese discs.
