  3. [me=postjack]scrambles around frantically to try and confirm if he did indeed buy super rare Grado phone[/me] Nah, the PH-1 is just the Grado Phono Stage. :'( You're thinking of the PF-1, methinks.
  4. linksys wrt54gs
  5. Thanks Chek, I hate antialiasing jaggies. Having said that, right now I'm leaning towards just getting the 40gig and using the $100 savings to buy COD4 and Oblivion. I might be fooling myself thinking that I'd actually play any PS2 games. My gaming time is limited to begin with. \ To the OP, I just bought a Linksys WRT54GS. As a positive side effect, I finally got the Ethernet working on my computer. Up until now, I was running the cable modem off of USB. Now I've freed up a slot and possibly sped up my internet connection. And I owe it all to headcase! Well actually not really, but it sounded like a nice thing to say.
  6. Well, I haven't bought the PS3 yet, but I probably still will, since we know its a good Blu-Ray player, and all we know about the Xbox Blu Ray addon drive is that tkam said it is coming out in a few months.
  7. Interesting!
  8. Sure, but just because there isn't a rule against it here doesn't make it any less worthless of a discussion. Nice dog picture!
  9. i'm sorry, who's the horse lady again? i need to listen to that.
  10. I would kill a fool for his OII. Screw <$500, thats free motherfucker.
  11. good point j-bone. there are plenty of 60gb available on eBay, but I'm stressing over sketchy ebay sellers and lack of support if I run into any issues. i could just get a PS2 on the cheap if I found I really wanted to play some PS2 games badly, which might not even happen.
  12. wow really? hmph. I guess its off to do some research as to the effectiveness of the software emulation.
  13. Absolutely. If I buy one, I'll get the 80GB version I saw at Sam's Club tonight. I'm interested in backwards compatibility for the wealth of RPGs available on the PS2. Thanks everyone else for your opinions on routers. It isn't the answer I was looking for, but it sounds like its basically a crap shoot.
  14. Not sure if this really belongs here or in the computer advice forum, but here goes. I'm considering picking up a PS3 for its Bluray capabilities and occasional game fun time. What wireless router do you recommend that will work well with the PS3? Other uses will include iPhone around the house internet access, and who knows, maybe a wireless music server a la Squeezebox at some point in the future. I was actually just at Best Buy (which I realized, tonight, without a doubt, that I hate, and I will try to never go in there again) and almost bought a standard Linksys router for $80 or so, but I got cold feet when I realized I didn't know if I'd need something more powerful for the possible future PS3 purchase. Thanks as always for your time and opinions.
  15. For those of us who watch the WAYLT thread, here is a place to post the albums you notice that are, in general, Head Case Approved Musicks (or d-_-b Musicks). For example, Phil Collins But Seriously... would not go here, even if I like it, because no one else ever listens to it. But this album does belong: ...because a lot of us listen to it, and it shows up in a lot of our last.fm signatures.
  16. before I got my iPhone, I was going crazy researching cases, but eventually I found a thread over at iLounge where a bunch of people talked about how going "nude" with the iPhone was just fine. So thats what I'm doing, and its amazing how scratch resistant it is. I've dropped it about three times at this point (from lower heights onto softer surfaces, i.e. carpet, not concrete) and have had no issues. Sure, the screen gets grimy and fingerprinty, but this doesn't inhibit usage at all for me, and a quick wipe from a soft cotton t-shirt cleans it perfectly. In other words, I opted to treat the iPhone like a cell phone, and not like an iPod. so far so good.
  17. whoops, I meant happy bday xand1x!
  18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY THRICE!
  19. Beatles BC-13 UK Blue Box
  20. Wow, so the PS3 is the only decent Bluray player? I was considering buying a player now that the "war" is over, and figured I'd head to this thread first for recommendations. I guess the fact that the PS3 can update itself through its internet capabilities is a big plus. $400 seems crazy for a game system I might never use, but for a game system I might never use AND a bluray player, it doesn't seem so bad.
  21. I got multiple offers by placing a WTB ad on HF and bumping it every 2 days. Prices quoted were always around $200.
  22. yeah, i could swing the stepup, but not the full phono, which is spendy. so long as the bugle isn't noisy at 60dbs, it should do the trick.
  23. i dunno, i'm going all Kid A on In Rainbows. its pretty kick ass. but i agree its silly to have tunnel vision for them.
